Earth-8504 a world in the multiverse that isn't too dissimilar from our own, but more technologically advanced. This world has its own avengers as well. However this world didn't have a spider-man... well that was until now.
I was walking up to the library to study with Gwen when I saw that a building was on fire. I don't exactly have time to change so I ran to the group inside to check if anyone was still inside.
A man said, "yeah there's a guy still in there and the fire department hasn't shown up yet."
I can't just let that guy die... I have to get him out. I ran inside with the man telling me not to, but I didn't listen.
I charged ahead and on the fifth floor I saw the man unconscious on the floor pinned under a piece of the ceiling.
I lifted the ceiling off of him when I saw him with a tranquilizer gun and he said, "sweet dreams Mutie."
He shot me and I lost consciousness.
When I woke up I was in a cement room with bright lighting damn near making me blind since I didn't have my sunglasses. I closed my eyes and heard someone walk in and say, "looks like you're up, just in time for your first fight Mutie."
"I'm not a mutant, I'm a Mutate, there's a difference."
He grabbed me by the neck and threw me into some room I heard the sound of a door closing behind me.
I walked forward until heard the sound of chains lowering behind me. I opened my eyes to see that the room was just dim enough for me to see.
Out came a blond teenager that looked my age and incredibly familiar for some reason, He said, "your the new guy, right?"
"Yeah, I guess."
???: sorry, but this it for you I'll try not to do to much to you.
"Wait what?"
Announcer: welcome one and all to the mutant rumble, where we pin Muties against each other in one corner a Mutie with superhuman strength, and the other corner can set himself in fire and control it.
Oh shit, did he say fire?
Announcer: now without further ado... let's get ready to rumble!
I closed my eyes and dodge to the right as the blonde guy sets off an explosion.
I hear him move to the right and I say, "listen I don't want to do this."
???: neither do I, but it's fight or die!
I say, "sorry about this, but I'm not going to die any time soon."
I take a swing and punch him in the gut sending him flying into the chain link cage we were in. I then ran up and kicked him in the face and said, "knock outs are allowed right?"
???: yeah.
I punch him in the face and knocked him out. Thank god I practiced fighting while blind.
We were taken to the back room and set down. I waited for the guy to wake up. When he did he saw that I was there and he said, "why did you spare me?"
"I'm no killer, but that's beside the point, what's your name?"
???: do you really not recognize me?
"Look man my powers give me an extreme sensitivity to light, with my sunglasses I can see normally, but they were destroyed in the fire."
???: so you can barely see me.
"Yep."
???: Johnny Storm.
"Like the Human Torch?"
Johnny?: yep.
"Not sure I trust that right now."
Johnny?: you will when you can see me. I'm curious is that sensitivity to light like a permanent thing?
"I don't think so my eyes just need to adjust, I've had powers for 2 months and this has been permanent for two weeks, in comparison to 15 years of normal sight, it's going to be a little bit until things get normal.
Johnny: Well is super strength and whatever you can do with your eyes the only thing you can do?
"Nope."
Johnny?: then what else can you do?
"Dude I just met you and my track record with this stuff isn't exactly good. So I'm not saying anything."
Johnny?: listen I've hatched plenty of escape attempts, but all we need to do is let me get out a signal and the FF will be here, but I need time in order to figure out where I can do this.
"So you're suggesting that we continue fighting opponents and I help you out and everyone held captive here escapes."
Johnny?: well yeah, but we need a huge spectacle all we need is one fight and I can do it.
"Does this place have a champion?"
Johnny?: read my mind, yeah it does and the guards love watching new comers that think they have a chance against him fight him.
"Let me guess the champion is also the boss of this operation."
Johnny?: exactly right, but one problem he has super strength he can exert from what I heard 25 tons, he's also is abnormally fast, and he's-
"Durable?"
Johnny?: no actually he's never lost a fight and always kills his opponents, so can you handle a fight with him?
"Most likely, but I have an idea to prove you are who you are."
Johnny?: okay what is it?
"Are the lights exposed?"
Johnny?: yeah... oh I see what you're getting at you can see in the dark can't you.
"Yep."
He destroyed the lights except for one so he could still see in the room and saw well he was telling the truth in front of me was Johnny Storm.
