Chapter 28: Gwen

Y/n POV

I woke up in my bed and heard knocking at my door.

"Come in."

Cheshire: um I heard about homecoming happening this week.

"Probably not gonna show up not like I have a date."

Cheshire walked in  and noticed I was in my heavily damaged suit and said, "get changed Y/n, class is in session."

"What are you talking about?"

Cheshire: I can't believe my own son doesn't know the proper materials to make his suit out of.

"Oh I'll just fix it."

Cheshire: nope we're remaking that whole thing with the right materials this time and while we do that you're telling me about your normal life.

"You mean my non-existent one."

She walked out I got changed and walked out and saw that my mom had a whole case ready.

"What's in that?"

Cheshire: oh this is a case of a highly durable and flexible cloth-like material of my own making, I call it Faeles.

"What?"

Cheshire: it's Latin for thief and cat.

I couldn't help but sigh.

"Why do I feel like it took you 15 minutes to come up with that."

Cheshire: it kinda did, thank god google translate was around when I made it.

"Wait when did you make this?"

Cheshire: when you were around 6 years old.

"Great. One more question does it come is anything other than black I mean I'm not Batman."

Cheshire: I can change the color.

I got a notification bone my phone and saw it was from the fantastic four and I read it.

I replied, "be there in an hour or two."

2 hours later

I walked out of the elevator and was greeted by Johnny who said, "what's up Webhead?"

"The roof."

Johnny: shut up.

"Sorry can't it's apart of my charm."

I walked in and saw Dr. Richards and he said, "hello mr. Furnell, last time we talked you mentioned something like the 'usual limit'"

"Right um the simple explanation for that is the multiverse theory which one of us called the spiderverse."

Dr. Richards: are you fucking with me.

"Nope although I really wish I was, because this is pretty god damn confusing."

1 hour later

I was walking to an old abandoned bootlegging tunnel and saw Miguel waiting for me he said, "how do you know about this?"

"Dad was a P.I. and mom is a big time cat burglar. If I didn't know where shit like this was I'd be a disgrace to my family."

Simon POV

Abby: got your suit ready?

"Which one?"

Abby: you know the one.

"Yeah, I do. Don't worry everything will be fine."

Abby: what about Y/n?

"For someone as smart as him he can be a real idiot sometimes. Especially when it comes to Gwen Stacy."

Abby: he can't tell she's crazy about him?

"Nope and I find it funny, but seriously he's an idiot when it comes to this stuff."

Abby: doesn't surprise me.

An alert showed up on her laptop and she said, "There's a bank robbery in progress."

"I'll take care of it."

I swung over to the bank and on the way I saw Y/n and that 2099 guy swinging to Fisk tower.

Y/n POV

Miguel: you sure he has something to do with this?

"Positive, seeing as how he's the man who has the money to keep Alchemax funded. Even when I met him he seemed off."

We landed on the balcony of his office and hid behind the walls.

Fisk: We have a problem. Now that Doc Ock is gone Alchemax will have a problem producing more super criminals for our cause. Lucky us they can still influence the market.

???: What about project Dolly?

Fisk: that matter doesn't concern you, Just make sure the Spider-Men stay out of our business.

We dropped off the side and Miguel said, "looks like you were right."

"I usually am, but what the hell is project Dolly?"

Miguel: Who knows? Let's hope they're just trying to book a Dolly Parton concert.

"Who's Dolly Parton?"

Miguel: do you not have her here?

"I don't think so. Maybe that's just me being young or something, but I've never heard of her."

Internship

I was cleaning up some test tubes when Howard said, "I heard about homecoming from aunt Carol, you going to ask Gwen?"

"You do realize that she is way out of my league right? I'm not embarrassing myself in front of-"

I noticed Howard had a big grin on his face and he said, "so you did consider it."

"S-shut up."

Gwen walked up and said, "hey Y/n can I talk to you for a minute."

"Uh sure."

Howard walked away and Gwen said, "you know how homecoming is coming up right?"

"Yeah?"

This isn't happening right? No, no way I mean I'm me, I show up late to everything, I'm half asleep during classes, my mom's... my mother, and I'm a walking bad luck charm.

Gwen: would you like to go with me?

"I'm just checking, this isn't like one of those things where you're trying to piss of your dad by going out with me right?"

Gwen: of course not, why would you think that?

"I show up to everything late, I'm almost always half asleep, I'm a walking bad luck charm, and my mom is Cheshire Cat who got out of prison thanks to certain connections."

Gwen: when you put it like that, makes sense, but no I'm actually interested in you.

"Uh yeah sure, of course I'll go with you."
