Chapter 1: origin story

I woke up in my room. It was in poor condition just like the rest of the apartment. The wallpaper was practically peeling off. I heard my mom calling for me so I got dressed and walked over to her in the kitchen area.

"What is it mom?"

Mom: good morning to you too, please wake up your father, he said he was going to have a five minute nap, but that was 20 minutes ago.

I rolled my eyes and said, "sure thing."

I walked to my mom and dad's room and saw dad halfway off the bed.

"Dad get the hell up already."

My father got up and looked at the clock and saw I was still here.

Dad: let's get going before your late to school.

I looked at the clock and noticed it was 7:00 am school started 20 minutes from now.

"I guess we're both going without breakfast today."

Dad: doesn't sound like anything new for me. Cmon let's get going.

My father quickly gets dressed and we leave for midtown high.

When we get there I say, "thanks for the ride dad."

Dad: don't forget I'll be picking you up after that field trip to Oscorp.

"I won't dad don't worry."

2 hours later

We arrived at the lab and my buddy Simon Knox showed up. He has long dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, and he's around my height.

Simon: Hey man sorry I'm late, I had to deal with my dad.

"All good, let's go."

I walked to my computer and saw that that boss sent me a video chat invite.

I accepted as usual he didn't have his camera on.

"hello sir, what's the occasion?"

Boss: someone's looking into your company Knox.

"And that's a problem that warrants you calling me?"

Boss: because he is looking into me and he's getting somewhere with it, have your men get rid of him Knox and if you don't well... you just might wake up to your funding having been cut. You have 72 hours Knox so get to it.

"Yes sir what's his name?"

Boss: Wayne Furnell

Y/n POV

We got inside and our tour guide led us to a part of the building that was were they were heading their research in genetic engineering.

We got to a display case of 12 spiders, actually never mind ones empty so 11 spiders.

Tour guide: Mrs. Osborn is currently helping our military seeking to essentially make super soldiers or other Captain America's to lessen the casualties via genetic engineering. We started with these 12 genetically engineered super spiders and are now close to human testing.

"Um ma'am there's 11 not 12, one's empty."

Tour guide: is that so? Well someone must have taken it out for a check up of sorts.

I began to feel something on the back of my neck.

Simon: you good? You spaced out for a second there.

"Oh yeah, sorry."

We walked away and I felt a pinch on the back of my neck so I swatted at it.
