Chapter 13: Adrian Toomes and Scorpion escapes

Y/n POV

I was in social studies class and we were supposed to give presentations for different parts of the Roman Empire and when it was our turn I accidentally bit my tongue and I couldn't move for some reason. So I gave a signal to Simon to make it look like I fainted and so he discreetly push me forward and I closed my eyes as I fell to the floor.

Lunchtime

I was in the nurses office and the others walked in and asked what happened.

"Well I have fangs now."

I showed them and Abby said, "will that happen to you too?"

Simon: I don't know.

"Apparently they secrete a paralytic venom and when it is in affect on me it lasts for 10 minutes. So I gotta be careful to not bite my tongue."

Abby: and you didn't walk back to class afterwards because?

"Well I wasn't feeling the whole presentation thing."

Abby then punched me in the side.

Simon: here's your sunglasses by the way.

"Thanks."

I put them on and left the room with them both.

Abby: by the way we gotta do that science fair thing.

Simon: right what should we do?

"How about we just show off those glasses with the AR scanner and get first place."

I then heard the pretentious voice Adrian Toomes my intellectual rival since junior high he's known to be a lot like Robert Knox or similar to a vulture and extremely good at taking other people's ideas and making them for himself. He said, "AR scanner glasses that's it?"

"Oh whose idea did you steal this time?"

Toomes: no ones and I made a tech flight suit that also enhances strength.

"This is a school science fair not Area 51's America's Got Talent!"

Toomes: well I'm gonna win, later losers.

"Okay never mind, we have one up now."

Simon: this has nothing to do with grades or getting first place does it?

"Not in the slightest, besides I already have an idea"

Abby: are we just gonna ignore the fact the guy who would be on the cover of world's biggest loser magazine just called someone else a loser?

"We've known him since Junior High is this really surprising?"

Abby: fair point. What's your idea?

"We'll he has tech flight, we have spider arms. We just need to make a harness and a mental transmitter to control them."

Abby: you're really sticking to the whole spider theme aren't you?

"He's sticking to the vulture theme, so what's wrong with me sticking to the spider theme?"

Abby: you're supposed to be the good guy that's what's wrong with it.

"Whatever let's get going."

Location: the raft 3rd person POV

A guard was walking past The Scorpion's cell, and he noticed a bunch of egg sacs on the ground he looked up and noticed that he was laughing and that there were four smaller versions of him next to him each of those eggs then hatch and they all break open the cell door letting out a ferocious roar that destroys the eardrums of all that heard it.

After school Y/n POV

For once it's a slow day and I asked, "so how long do we have left for that science fair thing?"

Abby: 1 week

"Oh then we got plenty of time."

We arrive at the penthouse I have come to call home and noticed Arianna waiting for us.

Arianna: Oh hey you three, um I need to talk to Simon about something real quick.

She knows doesn't she?

Simon: okay whatever you say mom.

Simon followed his mom and Abby and I walked into my room.

Simon POV

Oh please god don't be what I think this is.

Mom: don't be alarmed everything is going to be fine, but I've been informed that your father has broken out of prison.

"Oh that's what this is ,thank god!"

Mom: what did you think it was about?

"Not important."

Mom: quick question, why was Abigail with you two?

"Oh we're going to be working on our science fair project."

Mom: weird how they're doing that so early in the year. I mean you guys haven't even had homecoming yet.

Simon: I think they are doing that next quarter. (for those not from America or are unaware of this, school systems here often have things called quarters which are separated by breaks such as spring break or fall break which last a week while end of semester breaks last a little longer)

Y/n POV

Simon walked back into the room and asked, "did you hear the news?"

Y/n: yep and Abby here is currently running an algorithm to find probable locations to where he's hiding out. So until it pings possible locations let's figure out what we're going to need to finish this project.
