THE MELLOW ROCK OF THE FERRY SHIP DID NOTHING BUT AGGRAVATE NATASHA ROMANOFF'S UNCHARACTERISTIC NAUSEA. She's felt uncomfortable for weeks now but has only accounted the unusual sensation to stress and despair. How could she feel anything but sick after being torn apart from Steve and the rest of the team only 2 weeks prior?

It was supposed to be a routine inspection. After all, Wanda and Vision would frequently go into hiding alone(much to the chagrin of Natasha and Steve who disliked the fact that their twenty-two year old charge is growing up). Although the idea sometimes provoked her, Natasha felt like she could trust the duo to make fair decisions and remain completely composed given the current predicament. Wanda in particular, took months of extensive spy training and was taught ways to remain undercover long before Natasha ever thought the girl would need it - if ever. But now, Natasha felt even stronger about the predictability of her intuition.

That trust was fractured however, when Sam and Steve accompanied her to check on their remaining teammates after a lack of response on Wanda and Vision's part. Wanda always answers her burner phone when she receives a call from who she could assume to be Natasha. But this time, there was no answer and honestly, the completely composed assassin began to fear the worst.

So, that's how Natasha found herself in Norway, on the run alone after a botched attempt to finagle Wanda and Vision out of Ross's hands once more. Honestly, even recounting that mission sends of series of strong shivers down Natasha's spine - that's how impactful and deadly it was.

Steve was shot in the chest. He was shot diving for a bullet aimed at Natasha.

Wanda was shaken to the point that her powers started acting up again. She sobbed when her paternal figure was shot, sending out tendrils of crimson in all directions. Despite her non-violent intentions, the woman once again proved that she was dangerous in the eye of the public. She had thrown back six men against a cement pillar to their deaths.

Nat can't remember a time when she became so lethal on a mission that didn't involve an adversary hell-bent on world domination or destruction. Yet there she was, becoming the widow that she claimed she wasn't anymore. The agent that snapped necks and aimed to kill just because she was too careless and impatient to curb her attacks.

Heck, when it comes to Steve being severely hurt, all logic and sanity goes out the window for the ex-KGB assassin. Natasha showed her true colors that night, becoming the stone-cold killer that little girls call their hero.
