" what if we lose? then we'll do that together too."

"STEVE." NATASHA MURMURED TO HERSELF AS SHE WILLED HER MIND TO RECOGNIZE THE PERSON STANDING MERELY FEET FROM HER. Her heart was beating in a state of distress, far more than worry since she still couldn't will herself to believe. Hot, pleading breaths whirl out of the woman's mouth as she struggles to stay passive and not run towards him like a lovesick schoolgirl.

She pushed her feet to move in his direction, but it was as if some unknown force was pinning her to the grass below. A magnet connected the core of her body to the earth and while Natasha could so easily see herself moving, she simply couldn't.

"Steve." She echoed breathlessly, her tone soft and wispy like morning air. Vapored breaths left the woman's chapped lips as she felt a tug within her. She felt woozy, but not quite sick, like the morning sickness was filled with trepidation around her husband.

"Nat." The blonde replied as he skirted the small distance between them so they were only a few feet apart. His blue eyes sparkled in the bright day and while Natasha was accustomed to seeing them full of vivacity, they were laced with pain. His dusty blonde locks were longer now and he had grown a beard and mustache which only served to make him look older.

In a way, it still was Steve. But it also looked like someone had stole the innocence of her husband and replaced him with a totally different man. Steve looked more rustic with a beard, less self-righteous. Natasha could never forget his eyes though. Those piercing sky-blue orbs which shown like the sun and held her down like deep water. She could get lost simply staring at those swirling ceruleans. Natasha could drown and never even put up a fight.

A part of her hoped that the baby would have his eyes.

Finally, the force pinning her to the floor relented and Natasha Romanoff sprang into action. Exhaling another aching breath, the woman sped the few feet between them and pulled Steve into a hug. As his scent whirled over her body, she breathed a sigh of relief for the first time since they were separated. She truly could never get enough of her hunky husband in her life and boy did she miss him terribly.

Steve melted in her embrace and was quick to wrap his hands around her waist, pulling her closer. He buried his face into the soft part of her neck and nuzzled his nose against her soft skin. Steve would definitely tell her off later, but for now, he just wanted to hold her.

"What are you doing here?" The woman asked Steve as he pressed closer to her body. "How did you find me?"

"You needed my help so I came. Does it matter how I knew?" Steve replied in a soft tone. He then looked up at his wife, wiping away at the moisture building on her cheek from unshed tears.
