" a boy would be easier...."

AS THE DAY BEGIN TO DIE, TWO RUSSIAN WOMEN TREKKED THE SHORT DISTANCE TOWARDS A RUN DOWN GAS STATION FAR AWAY FROM THE CITY. Neither of them spoke as they walked, both far too injured and traumatized to attempt to make small talk. Natasha's morning sickness was acting up again and the only thing that seemed to quench the nausea was the promise of seltzer and soda crackers up ahead at the convenience store.

Yelena glanced up at the discolored gas tanks, and peeling numbers attached to the stalls. Everything looked to be at least twenty years old, but they were in no place to complain. So, she simply padded along the cracked asphalt. The ground felt rough underfoot and burnt dust sullied the underside of her black combat boots.

She breathed through the tension developing between them. Biting her lip, Yelena stiffened as she felt Natasha's lasting gaze on her. They hadn't been the same since that conversation in the vents only a few hours prior. It made for an awkward time on their little road trip endeavor to say the least.

The blonde strolled a bit quicker in order to allude her big sister's oppressive eyes, but Natasha wasn't about to be left in the dust so to speak. So, she too began to walk faster along the beaten road, the resounding sounds of crushed dirt and crunching rocks underfoot.

Yelena arrived at the glass door first. She pushed it open with the palm of her hands and slipped inside. Natasha, who was only a few feet behind her, had to actively stop the door from hitting her in the face because Yelena hadn't bothered to prop it open.

"Hey," Natasha reprimanded softly. But it was an empty threat.

Yelena merely glanced at her for a moment, before turning her attention to the row of goods in the little store. Natasha didn't take the little act to heart. Heaven knows she deserves so much worse, not only for what she did to Yelena...but for any other little girl she had to murder when she was a pupil and new agent in the field.

"The Red Room is still active. Where is it?" Natasha asked as she rounded the corner where her sister was picking apart the shelves with her eyes.

Yelena didn't even glance in her direction before scooting further away from the red-head, fury still on the mind. Quietly, the woman scales the products and pulls out a can, still refusing to look into the saddened eyes of her older sister.

"I have no idea. He moves locations constantly."

The blonde continues to shuffle through a few items along the dusty shelving. Gingerly, she picked up a few cans and items that looked to be of value, before pocketing them into her clothing.
