IT WASN'T THE FORBODING CAR ENGINE THAT WOKE NATASHA UP; IT WAS THE PUTRID STENCH OF LEAKING GASOLINE. The woman let out a short, confused groan as she attempted to roll out of her barely conscious state. The pungent smell was causing her stomach to roil and Natasha knew that something was terribly wrong in that moment.
But she couldn't tell what was happening.
Everything hurt and her head felt heavy with shock and the immense way that her car had rolled along the metal bridge. Her ears continued to ring and Natasha found herself grimacing as she rubbed her complaining ears along the smooth surface of her cracked leather jacket.
Natasha felt her eyes flutter closed for a moment as black splotches started to pierce her vision. The dark webs of her past personas started to weave along her eyeline and the woman felt her body drop forward in exhaustion. Horrifically, her body wasn't the only entity to drift forward.
Natasha let out a squeak despite her best efforts to curb her terror. For, she couldn't bear but stand in complete fear as she stared at the dark, churning water below her. The red-head's car broke through the bridge barrier and was now laying diagonal against the structure, one movement from plunging head-light first into the sweltering sea below.
The woman felt her panic rising as she ran her hands along her body. Something had caused her to pass out, she just wanted to ensure that her lack of consciousness was from the rolls and not a life-threatening injury. Natasha froze in her tracks when she recognized the sound of a car door slamming closed. New, fresh fear wound through her pain-filled body as she whipped her head in the direction of the noise. The woman let out a few shallow breaths as her heard thudded deeply in her chest. Panic was palpable for the strange, masked figure now trotting towards her.
