A MAN AND A WOMAN, MORE BROKEN THAN THE OTHER ONE REALIZES, STAND IN FRONT OF AN OVERLY LARGE BALCONY WINDOW, STARING OUT INTO THE VAST, EMERALD SCENERY. The green, lush lawn matches the woman's eyes as she stares into it. Her face, stoic. She doesn't look at the man beside her as he starts to speak, she just continues to stare out, her heart crumbling with despair.

"The doctor says he shattered L4 through S1." Tony says in a grave tone. His jaw trembled as he spoke, a deep pit of exhaustion and tense emotion collected in his throat. His grip on the window bar in front of him tightens and he licks his lips before continuing. "Extreme laceration in the spinal cord. Probably looking at some form of paralysis."

Natasha takes a moment to take in these words. Her eyes start to burn as she fights the torrent of emotion threatening to make itself known on her face. The woman manages a response, her eyes turning towards Tony for the first time since she entered the room.

"Steve's not gonna stop." Her eyebrows furrow. She bites back a wince from gracing her gorgeous features when she pictures Steve's face in her mind. She sees him smiling. His eyes are gloriously blue as he gazes up at her with adoration written on his handsome face. The red head still doesn't look at him. She keeps her eyes peeled at the gentle green field ahead, watching the crystal blue sky meet the grass at the horizon.
