so, small spoilers for dream smp, but

what if in the lake of tears situation, fundy only had one life left, but never told anyone about it -- so when he drowned, he returned as a ghost. but no one saw him, so they just assumed he respawned so everyone but ranboob left.

ranboo hesitates to leave the lake — he can't shake off the feeling that something is wrongwrongwrong, fundy is hurt, or lost, he's not safe —

this is when he starts to hear the sound of someone sobbing, heart wrenchingly in pain and it sounds so much like fundy that ranboo panics and bolts towards the wails without hesitating. and there, floating on the shore, is the ghost of fundy wailing and shaking :)
