EDEN

2 years and 6 months later...

I was happily married. My marriage wasn't perfect, we argued. Over necessary things, that never lead to one of us kicking the other out. My mother was here and I got to catch up on the time we lost. And another benefit was I had a personal babysitter at the touch of my fingertips.

I couldn't stay around people who were constantly lying to me. I did forgive them eventually. It made no sense to me to keep them up when they're probably sad with themselves for what they did. I invited them to Eden's christening but they said they were unable to make it unfortunately. Devon and I did say we would visit our families in a span of two weeks to see Eden. One week at mine one week at his. I'd most likely stay at a cheap motel/hotel nearby, because I wasn't going to let his sister bend my clam spirit.

And It's all thanks to her beloved father. Devon's mother also acts like she hates me too because she fares his 'wrath' . What's the point of their marriage if you look like you fear your husband. And turned your daughter into a monster. For someone who literally can't look up in my face has a lot of nerve giving me disrespect.

Who is Eden you may ask? Eden is our three month adopted daughter. Our little Valentine's Day gift and today was her christening. She's the only child I'll ever have because the doctor said if I was to have another it would be a high risk pregnancy. It was disappointing because Devon said he wanted many children and because me being high risked I couldn't give that to him. But he did his best trying to comfort the news and treasures Eden dearly.

Devon said he had two people he wanted to be her godparents and I didn't have any. I was yet to meet them but he assured me I would like them.

Hearing baby noises that my big mouth angel made before she started to cry, I stepped over to the crib at seven in the morning. Picking her up I went over to the changing table, to take off her soaked diaper. This impatient baby couldn't wait until her bottom was clean before eating started to cry.

Breastfeeding was a hell lot of work, so glad she hadn't started teething yet. "Let's go to daddy." I said brushing back her curly hair on the top of her head.

"Morning." Devon said when I walked into the kitchen.

"I have to go get ready." I said to him handing Eden over to him.

Going into the small walk-in closet, I found a black irregular ruffled skirt with a shiny bead mesh sleeve shirt that was white along with white kitten heels. After doing that I sat for almost an hour damaging my hair with the heat I was ready to go out the door.

"Finally." Devon said, handing me Eden who was fully dressed in her frilly ivory dress and cute little bow, with her dummy in her mouth.

"Will you pray for this child?"
"Will you be an example to them?
"Will you walk with them in the way of Christ?"
"Will you care for them and help them take their place in life?"
"Go in the Light and Peace of Christ."

One of Eden's godparents was no other than this girl I met in high school and became friends with. Her name was Alexis Powell, I had lost all contacts with her when my mother switched my school to a cheaper one. How did he manage to find her?

The other one was unfamiliar to me, but he was apparently very close to Devon. And married apparently with a neat gold banned around his finger. The guy had blonde hair grayish looking eyes, a week old stubble, wearing a dark blue jacket suit without the jacket.
"She's so cute!" Alexis said, stretching her hands out to take Eden.

After christening we went out to a small dinner with the two godparents Alexis and Carter Monroe. They were married and apparently in the back of the congregation at our wedding two years ago and I didn't even know. Before finding myself a seat at the table I had to go pump first.

I filled about two bottles and I was able to come back out. I sat at the table eating my delicious cuisine that was before me and while looking at the people around me. The people God had put in my life that I could trust wouldn't lie to me. My husband, my mother, my daughter, my long lost friend and her husband.

I know this wasn't perfect and I plan on doing better. But thank you for reading. Love you, stay safe and God bless.

By next week you can look for a next book, that ones going to be for Alexis and Cater Monroe.
