It's Mila and Jayden, their hands intertwined. I know they're waiting for me to say something, but I can't seem to form words. I'm not even that shocked that they're here, standing in front of us. The thing that shocks me the most is that Jayden looks genuinely happy. Mila however, has an evil smirk on her face, as she stares right into my eyes.

I try to seem not interested as I reply, "What do you want Stevens?"

She opens her mouth to respond, but before she can Jayden interrupts her, finally looking at me for the first time.

"We just came over to say hi Brooke, no need to get all fired up." She ridicules, a frown replacing her smile. Who does she think she is? She can't just come back and be a part of my life, or tell me what to do. I open my mouth to tell her that, but before I can a voice comes over the loudspeaker system.

"Ladies, Gentleman, and They's, the game is about to start. Please find a seat and stay there, because you won't want to miss this match up. Our own Fir Hollow Eagles are up against last year's reigning champion, the Birmingham Fighting Bears!"

We all stand up and cheer, as Jayden and Mila turn the other way to find seats, shooting us dirty looks as they go, but I ignore them, fouscing on the entrance Paisley is supposed to some out of. The band starts playing, and cheering gets even louder as smoke starts at the entrance to the field.

The football team runs out then, and I immediately scan their faces, looking for Paisley. I spot her quickly, her silky brown hair pulled back in a braid.

She looks up in the stands at me, and I can see a smile break out across her face as she sees me. Everyone is screaming around us, but it feels like we're the only two people there. I break out of my trance when she jobs to the sidelines, breaking contact as she gets into character.

The coin flip goes our way, so Paisley is on the field first. I rub my hands together in anticipation, holding my breath as the game starts.

It's the fourth quarter, and the game's tied. I haven't been able to tear myself away from the field, my eyes focused on Paisley. There's less than a minute left, and our team has the ball. Paisley fakes a pass so well that my eyes flick over to where it would have gone, but when I look back at her, she's gone, running across the field in a flash.

She makes it to the end zone before she gets tackled, and while everyone is standing up and screaming, my eyes are still on her, waiting for her to get up. After a minute she gets up, and I'm already heading down the stands to see her.

Before I can get to her however, a horde of sweaty, shouting, football players picks her up, carrying her around like a championship trophy. The game ends twenty seconds later, with the other team not able to make up another touchdown.

Paisley is still being carried around, so instead of heading into the crowd, I head into the girls locker room. I text her to let her know I'm here, and two minutes later she bursts through the door, her eyes locking on mine.

Instead of congratulating her, I pull her in for a searing kiss. When I pull away, she's out of breath, but I can't tell if it's from the game or from our kiss.

"What was that for?" She breathes, still trying to catch her breath.

"It was my way of saying you did a good job."

She grins, obviously proud of herself. She starts taking off her shirt, but I cover my eyes before I can see anything.

I can hear her laughing, before she pulls my hands away from my eyes. Her shirt's fully off now, and while I know I should be looking away, my eyes lock on her abs.

"You don't have to look away Brooke. I'm yours, remember?"

The way she says it makes my heart melt. I know she isn't really mine, but in the moment I believe her. I pull her in for another kiss, and she grabs around my waist, sending heat shooting down me.

We don't break apart until the locker room door slams open, and we jump apart, both scared. Jake comes around the corner and I look at him with guilt in my eyes, realizing what it looks like. Paisley's football equipment is scattered across the room, while her shirt is off.

"It's not what it looks like." I blurt out, but Jake just rolls his eyes turning back around to leave the locker room.

"I don't care Brooke. Just at least wait until after the team party to fuck her." And with that he leaves the room, leaving Paisley and I in different shades of red.

I motion to the door. "I'm just gonna go."

She gets in my way before I can leave, blocking the doorway.

"Will you go to the party with me? We can invite our significant others, and since you and I are, you know..."

"Dating?"

She nods, but I start talking before she can start again.

"I would love to go."

"Ok then. I just need to shower quick and then we can go, if you don't mind waiting."

I grin at her. "Go shower smelly. I'll be here."

She laughs before throwing her shoe in my general direction as a sign of protest, but it doesn't go anywhere near me, most likely on purpose. She heads to shower while I sit waiting for her, marveling at how right it feels to be with Paisley, even though it might not be long before I admit to myself that I have real feelings for her and ruin what we have.
