Paisley and I get to the party half an hour later, and almost everyone is there already. I can hear the music blasting from the car, and before we head in Paisley turns to me.
"You ready babe?" She asks, worry pooling in her eyes, but before I can answer someone knocks on my window, effectively startling both of us.
Jake grins as Paisley rolls my window down, glaring at him.
"I thought I told you guys to fuck after the party!" He shouts over the music, swaying from side to side.
"How are you already drunk?" Paisley groans, getting out of the car and helping him to the curb so I have enough room to get out. She helps me out of the car, her hand lightly grabbing my waist and lowering me to the ground. Sparks shoot from where her hand touched as my face turns red. Paisley reaches inside the passenger seat, grabbing a water bottle and handing it to Jake, motioning for him to drink up.
We leave Jake staring in awe at the water bottle, as she leads me inside. If I thought outside was intense, inside is even worse. The music is so loud that the house feels like it's vibrating, and there's sweaty football players clustered everywhere I can see, most of them drunk already.
We head through the kitchen and out the back door, where there's a small deck with string lights hung all around, casting delicate shadows over the grass. She leads me to the two deck chairs near the back of the lawn, and motions for me to sit down.
"I had Henry set these up so we could have some alone time, if that's fine with you." She blurts, wringing her hands together nervously.
Before she can freak herself about this anymore, I cover her hands with mine, gently holding them. She smiles, her muscles relaxing as she leans in closer to me. We're so close that I can see every little detail of her face, and her hot breath is touching my lips. Before our lips can touch however, a body stumbles into me, making me lose my balance and fall onto Paisley, who lands right on her back, with me on top of her.
Both of our eyes widen at the position we're in, but before we get the chance to say something a voice interrupts us.
"I don't feel so good." Jake moans, breathing heavily with his hands on his knees as he lurches back and forth. Paisley sighs and gently moves me off her while she leads Jake inside to the bathroom.
"She's the one!" Jake yells, before Paisley pulls him inside, which is a good thing because I would have agreed with Jake. I've known she was the one since tenth grade, now all I have to do is find out if she feels the same way, which is going to be harder than it sounds.
I know this is short, but there will be a longer chapter on Monday.
