(Dick's pov)

I don't like him. Not at all. Or maybe you don't like him because he's with Tina. No. I don't like him, because my instincts tell me that he's hiding something. Everyone has something to hide, Dick.

A few minutes after our awkward encounter, Jamal's mother had called him and he needed to leave. My face has been in a permanent scowl since I've seen him.

"Fix your face, he's not THAT bad," Tina jokes as she closes and locks her door.

"Watch him Tina," I warn her. Her eyes narrow at me, but she doesn't say anything. She let's silence fill the room as she watches me closely as I gather my things from her bedroom.

"Do you need a minute to use my phone?" She asks once I have my things in order.

"Yeah," I turn around and face her. Her face is a mirror of what my face probably looks like right now as I take her phone from her hands. I glance down at my feet and then look back at her.

"Look, I know our friendship has been. . .weird. After you left for college, things haven't been the same. I know you haven't talked to the girls in awhile, but I'm just doing what they would've done if they were here. I'm just trying to look out for you, Ti" I say honestly.

"I know, that you're just looking out for me. I appreciate it. Since I've moved its been a bit hard having my support group a few hours away from me," she says with a small smile.

"Yeah," we fall into another moment of silence before I sigh and move away from her.

"So... I'll get to calling, and I'll get out of your hair," I give her a smile, but I feel incomplete. I don't want to leave. I actually want to stay. Tina and me had previous encounters of having small conversations, but nothing serious. Looking back at our times hanging out together, because of the friendships and relationships with my brothers, I never got to know her. Not really. Every time I wanted to, something major would get in the way. Like the announcement that she was going away for college.

That was a blow to my chest. Tina was the girl that got away, and I was too chicken to tell her that I didn't want her to leave. She was leaving and I didn't have alot of memories of our friendship, because we always had a major life changing event interrupt us.

"Well, don't be a stranger, Dick. Although, I'd prefer that you'd  drop by when you're less bloody," she smiles. My heart warms as my faces mirrors hers.

"Aye aye, captain," I wink. Tina bursts out laughing and walks out of the room. My eyes follow her out as I release a sigh. My eyes catch a glimpse of a picture frame and I look at it. Its a group picture of her friends and my brothers together.

Out of all the girls that I've met, Tina is the one I want to have a deep bond with.

*two hours later (Tina's pov)*

After Dick left my apartment, I felt. . .incomplete. I felt like should have said something.

Jason came and picked him up from my apartment and took him to his apartment in Blüdhaven. Now what I found weird was the fact that  he came to me. I don't understand why, but oddly enough I'm glad he did.

Now I'm here at a local cafe waiting for Kat, my roommate, to meet me.

I play with my fingernails for a bit and take a sip of my tea, before I hear heels click against the cafe's wooden floor.

"You won't BELIEVE, what my partner just did," she rants. Kat works at the Blüdhaven police department. Last night was her day off, so she was spending some time with her boyfriend. She told me that she was going to spend the night and he was going to take her to work.

"Uh oh, I know that look. Was he late again?" I ask with a humorous smile. Kat's coworker is almost always late.

"Late?!" She nearly shouts. I push her coffee towards her and she takes a sip.

"How about a no show? Girl, he called Chief and said that we both are taking some time off. That arrogant jerk," she huffs as she takes another sip of her coffee.

"Maybe it's not so bad. You've built up enough vacation time, and you're a great detective. Chief, wouldn't mind," I reassure her. She scoffs and shakes her head.

"Imagine my face when Chief said my partner and me called out today. I told his ass to stop partying so much. Do you know how many times he arrived to work late? Hell, if he wasn't so great at his job he would have been fired by now...along with him being a great partner. He said I'm one of the only ones who can resist his looks," she chuckles.

"I bet he doesn't even look that good," I scoff as I take a bite of my pastry. Kat raises a brow and shakes her head.

"Tina, this man is FINE. Deadass.  I'm not even bullshiting. He talks shit but he can back it up," she says seriously.

"Oh, so he is cute?" I chuckle not believing a what she's saying about his looks. Picture of what he looks like came to mind, and I'm thinking about tall, dark, and handsome with pure blue eyes that tell you everything is gonna be okay. A pearly white smile that'll melt your heart. Small dimples on the corners of his mouth. Um, I think you're talking about Dick Grayson.

"Hello. Earth to Tina," Kat snaps me out of my daydream.

"Sorry I was a bit dazed," I shake my head a bit to knock the image out of my head.

"No you're fine. I'm like that too sometimes. Trapped in my head," I nod in agreement and take a sip of my tea.

"So, what happened last night? Did you, you know, with Jamal?" She whispers.

"What? Oh no. No no no. You know I told you how I feel about it. I'm great with just a make out session," I laugh nervously.

"Hey, I get it, but if that didn't happen what did?" She asks as she take a sip of her coffee.

"An old friend dropped by last night. He was hurt pretty badly, but nothing too serious," I say as I take another bite of my pastry.

"Hurt? Why didn't he go to the hospital?"she asks as I slide her her pastry.

"He, um, has a fear of hospitals; don't worry though, he just needed a stitch or two," I reassure her. Her brow raises again and leans in closer.

"You know how to stitch someone up?" I nod my head and look around the Cafe to avoid her eyes.

"Seriously? That's crazy," she shakes her head as she sips the last of her coffee. "What did you have them put in there? I couldn't stop drinking it," she asks. I just shake my head and wink at her as we fall into another conversation.

After we finished our drinks and food we left a tip and took a walk around the park nearby.

My skin tingles like someone is watching me, but I don't know who.
