*Dick's pov (that evening)*

"Vampires are better than werewolves," I say on the drive back home. Today's brunch turned into an all day affair. We did not leave the house except to go grocery shopping for Alfred, but that's about it.

"Are you even listening to yourself? Werewolves are way better than vampires. Who wants to suck blood for the rest of their life?" She sasses as she pulls into a gas station.

"Who wants to turn into a hairy beast every month?" I ask. She sucks her teeth and gets out of the car. "I'll be right back. This isn't over," she walks past a group of men, and immediately my protective side kicks in. One of the guys try to touch her ass, but she moves out of the way. I can feel my face flush with anger as they laugh, and continue their conversation. I grip the dashboard to keep myself from jumping out of the car.

She walks out of the store, hopefully aware of the men cat calling her, and looks straight ahead towards the car. One of the dumbasses pulls her back to them, while keeping a firm grip on her arms. Fuck this shit, I'm not staying in the car. She head butts the guy in the nose, but his buddy punches her in the face.

I step out of the car and slam the door to grab their attention. "Get the fuck off of her!" I yell as I get closer to the group of assholes. The tallest one in the group moves in front his buddies, and cracks his knuckles as if to scare me off. I've been trained by the best. A cracking of the knuckles aren't going to scare me off.

"Fuck off, unless you want a piece of her too," one of them says as he runs his dirty hands over her chest and neck area. Once his hand gets close to her neck she bites it hard enough to break skin. "Aaaaahhhhh!" He screams. She breaks out of the guys hold, and twists his arm behind his back. He groans in pain when she throws him into the next guy..

I take that opportunity to kick the tall guy in the knees, and swiftly headbutt him in nose. He cries out in pain, confused on which place to care for first. Time for the money shot. As he limps down to my level, I jump up and scissor-kick him in the face. He hits the concrete with a loud smack, knocking himself out cold.

Tina comes next to me in a boxer's fighting stance, ready to take the remainder of the guys in the group. "Fuck that bitch, you can have her," the short stack in the group grumbles. Never in my life have I moved so fast. I pick up the pipsqueak by his shirt collar, and raise him above the ground.

"What did you say punk?!" I growl out of hot blinding anger. How DARE he talk about her like that?!

"H-hey man, if that's your girl, j-just say that," he nervously chuckles. I bite my lip to keep from saying 'she is my girl', but I keep it to myself. Before I could say anything, Tina scoffs.

"It doesn't matter if I'm his girl or not. You gotta treat people with respect! Drop him, he's not worth it," she spits. I drop him like the scum he is, and walk back to the car with Tina.

Once I'm in the car, I get so deep in my thoughts, I didn’t know we were moving already. "Thanks for the help, D," she says after several minutes worth of silence.

"When was the last time you brushed up on your self defense?" I ask subtly. I'm just trying to keep myself from losing it. That guy hit her, and now she possibly has a black eye.

"Ooh dayumm, it's been a hot minute," she chuckles. She stops at a red light, and looks at me. I look back at her, speaking with my eyes, and not with my words. I wonder what she's thinking at the moment, because I sure as hell am thinking of taking her to the batcave to sharpen her training again. No one will never get to lay a finger on her. Wait that's a great idea.

"Dick? Talk to me," she asks in desperation as she takes a turn into my apartment complex. She pulls into the parking lot and parks. I turn on the lights above me in the car, and gingerly examine the minor damage on her face.

"It's not that ba-ouch!" She winces as I touch a sensitive spot.

"When do your classes start?" I ask quietly. Her eyes study my face, but give up when she couldn't read anything.

"Erm, I have morning classes from eight to eleven why?" She asks in confusion. I simply smirk, and exit out of the car. "That's perfect, I'll see you tomorrow!" I say as I shut the door.

"Tomorrow? Don't you have work?!" She shouts from her car.

"Don't worry about it! I'll see you tomorrow afternoon," I smile. As I'm walking up the steps leading to my apartment, I start to laugh. This is soooo going to work.
