(Dick's pov)

"So. . . what's going on? You've barely said a word, since I've picked you up," Jason says as he parks the car in front of my apartment.

"Really? I haven't noticed," I guess I've been in my thoughts since I left. Damn I feel like I should have said more.

"Dude, if you're thinking about fucking Tina, I will personally fuck you up," Jason says as he turns to me. His eyes shined with seriousness and concern.

"WHAT? Hell no! She has a boyfriend," I shout. I don't know why, but what he said touched a nerve.

"That's never stopped you before," he says without wavering his gaze.

I stare at him in total disbelief. I can't believe he thinks of me this way. I may have indulged in a few women time to time, but Tina? One of my closest friends? The girl I have the upmost respect for in the entire world? Hell no. Tina is much much more special than that. She deserves romance. Love. Not a quick fuck.

I shake my head in disbelief. "You are out of your mind. Why would I go out of my way to disrespect her like that? Think on it Jay. She's means too much to me, as a friend, to disrespect her like that," I explain. She is just too good for that.

"Mmhmm," is all he says before taking his keys and getting out of the car.

A flash of hot anger rushes through me at his reaction. This bitch. I get out of the car move around to the trunk where Jason is. "If you got something to say, say it!" I snap.

Jason reached into his pocket and pulls out a piece of gum. "I can't. You actually left me speechless," he laughs before opening the trunk to get my things. "Come on its game night remember? Tim is coming back from college."

My eyes widen in surprise. Did he just switch the subject?

"What the-wait Tim's back? Genny, is gonna be all over him," I say to myself. Wow my little brother is back in town.

"How are they dealing with that two month break?" I ask as I get the last of my belongings.

"Ha! Honestly, they tried doing that two month thing, without seeing each other, and it worked for a bit. You know because of the new colleges, homework, and all of the adjustments that come with college. It made sense, but damn when they saw each other on break it was like...they never left. I don't know how to explain it," Jason shrugs as he closes the trunk door.

"I guess those nerds really do belong together," I chuckle as I walk up to my apartment door. My thigh had stopped throbbing an hour ago, but it resumed when I climbed up the stairs. Damn maybe its time to move...again.

I bend down to pick up the spare key placed underneath the flower vase. I place the key in the hole, but stop when my neighbor comes out of their apartment. "Oh, Brick. When are you dropping by to fix my plumbing?" Ms. Anderson says as her weathered and wrinkled hands fix her thick glasses. She looks up at me expectedly, with big gray eyes. I can hardly say no to that wrinkled face.

"Brick?!" Jason chuckles.

"Ms. Anderson...it's Richard," I sigh. She's the only person I want to call me by my given name. Poor lady. She can never remember my name, and she's as blind as a bat. Literally.

"Ochard? Why on earth- I thought it was Brick? I heard it several days ago," she says innocently.

"Heard it, from who ma'am?" I ask. I have terrible feeling this isn't going to be good.

"Oh, I don't know. I heard some girl say 'ooh ooh Brick, right there'," she says as she looks up at me. Jason laughs so hard that he started wheezing. A blush crawls up my neck and hits my cheeks. I turn around to him and push him.

"Shut up!" I grit out to him. Jason laughs harder and falls to his knees.

"W-wait! Ms. Anderson...what else did you hear?" Jason manages to get out.

"Well, also heard 'Harder Brick. Harder'"She says. Son of a bitch. Jason howls with laughter and slaps the wall.

"Jason, just get in the damn house," I turn my key and open the door. I make a head movement for him to go inside.

"Ms. Anderson... that was probably the television. Someone's television," I gulp. Damn I hope she drops this subject.

"B-But, I heard it through your apartment," she says. Damn. Damn. Damn.

"Erm, I was watching HDTV. It's a home reconstruction channel. Ms. Anderson,  I have to go. My brother is waiting for me," I say quickly before I enter my home.

"Oh you were reconstructing alright. Reconstructing that-" I stop Jason's words with a glare.

"Shouldn't you be going? Beanie is probably waiting for you," I sneer.

Jason throws his hands up and walks towards the door.

"Hey, don't get snappy with me. Orchard," he laughs. He opens the door and salutes me. He leaves and I slam the door behind him. "Such an asshole," I mumble to myself.

I walk into my room and grab my phone off of my dresser. I don't take my phone with me when I patrol. I guess I do it as a separation from my personal life and my hero life.

I check it and see dozens of messages and phone calls. Mostly from my partner from the Blüdhaven police department.

Oh I know she's pissed off at me. She should thank me though. That workaholic needed a break, and I'm giving her one.

A new message popped on my phone, and it was from Tina. I answer it immediately and smile instantly.

Tina ❤: I hope you got home safely. Those six words warmed my heart.

Me: I'm home safe and sound. I quickly reply and set my phone down. I walk over to my closet and sigh. The world needs Dick Grayson today.
