(Dick's pov: Wayne mansion)
"Miss me with that bullshit! You not a gang banger you're a tourist!" Tina and me sing as I pull up to the cul-de-sac in the front of the house. I remove my aux cord and click off of the music app on my phone. Ooh cut it off before Future finished his part! I swear it was good until he "la di da". I just couldn't do it.
"Dude, you definitely got Jay Rock's part down," Tina laughs.
"If only you knew how many times I had to listen to it," I chuckle as I turn off my car. I get out of the car and take a moment to look at the beauty of this place.
"I'm still mad that you forced me to go. I told you my social meter is dangerously low," Tina scoffs. I just roll my eyes at her dramatics and move to closer to her
"Hey, it's not like I abducted you," I chuckle.
"Might as well. 'Shake your tail feather Tina', 'We're already late Tina'," she mocks in a high pitched voice. I dramatically put my hand on my chest.
"I just...cannot with you," I turn my head away from her with my arms crossed over my chest.
"At least my roommate knows where I am," Tina says confidently. I give her a side glance and then back at the mansion. Um...who's gonna tell her?
I left her roommate a note, saying that she'll be out for an hour or so to visit a friend. For some reason, a part of me has a feeling I might know who her roommate based on the way their apartment looks. I've seen that level of organization before.
"You always have to be fashionably late brother," Tim smiles as he steps away from the front door to come and hug me. Tim is a little taller than me now, but just as handsome. Even though we aren't related.
I look past his shoulder and see Genesis picking up Tina and spinning her around.
"You haven't changed a bit," I chuckle as I put my arm around his shoulder. He looks healthy and peaceful. I guess coming home had it's perks.
"Can I have my boyfriend back," Genesis smirks as she walks up to us. I couldn't help the smile that came over me. She looks happier, now that he was back. Her smooth almond colored skin was glowing, which made her smile grow even brighter.
"You look great, Genny," I tell her as she
kisses my cheek. Her eyes sparkled behind her glasses and her cheeks flushed at the compliment."Thanks," Genny chuckled before moving over to Tim.
She wraps her arms around his neck and pulls him down for a kiss. His hands land on her waist and pulls her closer to him. He breaks the kiss and runs his thumb across her cheek. He whispers something to her, which makes her blush, before wrapping an arm around her waist.
"Let's get to the party guys," He chuckles. I look over at Tina and she raises her brow.
"Do I have something on my face?" She sasses as we walk up towards the door.
"Only beauty. Only beauty," I smirk. She stops and looks at me. She slowly smiles and punches my arm. "Flattery will get you nowhere, Grayson," she laughs.
"I don't know, I say it got me pretty far." I flash her my smile and see something foreign in her eyes. We stare at each other for a good minute with small smiles on our faces. "Classic," is all she says before moving past me to enter my home. My eyes follow her inside and I chuckle to myself. Classic indeed.
(Tina's pov: backyard)
"Hi cutie," I whisper to Selina's baby girl as she coos at us, stretching her little hands out. I oblige her request by letting her grab my pinky. Her big blue eyes stare back at me as she plays with my finger.
Selina had placed the little girl in her cute purple bassinet. She had went inside the house for a bit to talk to the other women in the kitchen, but she can still see us through the glass sliding door. I look around the backyard and see close friends that I've grown to trust and respect. The Titans had attended to see Tim come home from college, and a few members of the Justice League. I like when Bruce throws parties like this. It's nothing big, but its simple and homey. I love it.
"She is just adorable," Beanie says as she plays with the baby's feet, and as Melanie tickles her stomach. The baby gives a toothless smile and wiggles around.
"I know right she has the best of both parents," Florana chuckles as she makes funny faces for the baby.
"Careful you might scare the girl," Maria says jokingly as she crackles a little toy above the child to get her attention.
"She is so precious," Genesis says with sparkles in her eye. Damn I have missed them. My best friends.
"I've missed you guys. So much," I say with a little emotion. It was tough leaving Gotham for college, but it was necessary for me. I like to think of the move as character development.
Although, the look on Dick's face when I announced that I was leaving, nearly convinced me to stay. We went through a lot together, with my friends and his brothers hooking up to the world's issues constantly interrupting us. I had wished it was just us for a moment. Just for us to have fun without all the interruptions, but we can't do that now.
"We missed you too, girl. I missed having your fashion opinions on deck," Maria chuckles as she throws her arm around my shoulders.
"Whatever," I flip her off, but she just kisses my cheek and hugs me tighter.
"So how's it going?" I ask as I take a seat at the table. I feel a heavy stare on my back, so I slowly turn around. I catch a glimpse of Dick staring at me, before turning away to talk with his brothers.
"It's been alright. Things have been real busy. Super busy," Beanie says as she glances around the table. The girls collectively look at each other as if they were holding a secret. What in the hell?
"Uh uh, like hell y'all are keeping me in the dark. What happened?" They look at each other again, and I swear I almost screamed. I hate when this happens.
"Is it good or bad? At least give me that," I hiss. I look around the table and they all look in different directions. I look straight a Florana, knowing good and well that she's the first to spill.
She bites her lip hard as if she could hardly contain herself. Florana opens her mouth and Genesis quickly stuffs it with a cookie.
"That's just wrong," I say as I shake my head.
"Lets just say the situation has traveled far enough," Beanie nervously chuckles as she quickly glances at Genny.
I quickly look at Genesis and she just turns the other way.
"Yeah, you wouldn't want to report it," Melanie says as she plays with the baby's feet.
"Reporting? Traveling? Super?" I raise a brow at what could have happened while I was gone. Before I could ask more questions, Dick came by and put a hand on my shoulder. Goosebumps quickly cover that area as if I was sensitive to his touch. Why does this feel much more intense when he touches me than Jamal? So weird.
"Having fun yet?" He smirks. I roll my eyes and look away from him. "I was," I glare at my friends before turning back to him.
"We can't have that can we?" He chuckles. He takes my hand and gently tugs me out of my chair.
He then reaches past me to turn the bassinet in his direction. He whispers something to the girl that makes her giggle and reach for his nose. He kisses her tiny hands before pulling away. I don't know why, but that was...hot.
The soft ambient music the Dj was before quickly switches to a song that I feel myself starting relate to.
'Liar' by Camila Cabello plays through the speakers, and instantly the beat courses through my body.
"Let's dance," he holds out his hand and I stare at it. Once in a lifetime chance Tina. Biting my lip I look at it and then I look at him.
I slowly slide my hand into his and I hope for the best.
