*Dick's pov (the next morning)*

"Just talk to her. Yeah just talk," I tell myself as I walk up to Tina's apartment. I hold a box of donuts in one hand and two bottles of juice in the other. I think she likes any sweet juice.

I ring the doorbell and wait. I can feel my heart race as the those seconds feel like hours. I hear foot steps behind the door, and the locks unlock. The door swings open and my jaw drops.

"Kat? You live here?" I ask as I see my partner dressed in a pair of pajama pants and a tank top.

"Uh yeah, I live here. Who are you looking for?" She asks as she looks at the donuts in my hand.

"I think I have the wrong apartment," I tell her instead. I smile as I slowly walk away.

"Kat, who was that?" I stop when I hear her voice.

"Oh just my partner, Dick Grayson. You know, from work, " I hear nothing but silence. I turn around and see Tina there looking adorable in her panda sleeping shorts, light blue tank top, and black bonnet over her head. Her wide brown eyes stare at me in shock.

"I-I came bearing gifts," I stutter as her strong dark brown legs catch my attention. Really really nice legs.

"Oh, um, thanks. Please come in," Tina moves away from the door and I follow her in. I set the donuts and the juice on the coffee table in the living room.

I stand awkwardly in the room searching for anything to talk about. My eyes look at the organized magazines, the candles, and the order of the remotes on the table. Oh yeah. That's all Kat. I should have known.

"Um, nice bonnet?" I sheepishly say to Tina before looking at my feet. A dark blush hits her cheeks as her hand rushes to her head.

"Thanks...it keeps my hair in place," she awkwardly chuckles as she avoids eye contact. Definitely not awkward.

"So this is the girl you've been talking about?" Kat's voice cuts through the tension. I cut her a glare as Tina scoffs and looks at us both.

"You were talking about me?" Tina says as she picks up the juice off of the coffee table.

"Well-" I try to explain, but she cuts me off. "Apple or grape?" She asks as she holds up the drinks in front of me. Wow that was random.

"Oh, um, they're for you actually," I say as I scratch my head. Tina's eyes sparkle in excitement and rushes off to put one of them in the freezer. My eyes follow her into the kitchen as I try not to admire her backside. Kat cuts my view as she stands with her hands on her hips.

"Really? My roommate is not a piece of meat," Kat whispers. My eyes widen as I try to hold back a retort.

"I told you how I felt last night, Kat. Do you think I see her as a piece of meat?" I sneer. Kat holds my glare and then smirks.

"You really do care about her," She says before  she lays eyes on the donuts on the table and pushes past me.

"So, what brings you by?" Tina asks as she sits down at the table. Her laptop is open and she's typing away on it.

"Ti," her eyes stay on the computer screen. I walk up to her and slowly close the laptop. "Tina. Look at me," she bites her lip and looks up at me.

"I'm sorry I haven't talked to you since the party. I just got carried away with work. You can ask Kat. I hate sounding corny, but it's not you it's me," I say desperately. I didn't think I'd feel this way trying to make things clear for her without revealing my actually feelings.

"Does that work with all the girls?" She snorts sarcastically.

"Girl, I've been around this guy for so long that he's practically my brother. Trust me when I say that with all the one night stands he has, he doesn't even get to use it. He's just gone," Kat inputs as she takes a bite of her glazed donut. I roll my eyes and hit my palm against my forehead.

"Thanks for helping my case, Kat. She really needed to hear my late night escapades," I say sarcastically.

"Anytime, buddy," Kat laughs as she continues eating her donut.

Tina's face cracks into a smirk. "See? I'm being genuine. Ti, you know that I'm honest with people I care about," I tell her. I take her hand and hold it in my hand, because I need the comfort.

"Okay, I believe you. It's just I thought it was something I did, you know? Sometimes, I-I can be over dramatic and-" I interrupt her by shaking my head.

"Who said you're over dramatic? You legit have a right to be concerned. I practically ghosted you, and Blüdhaven is slowly becoming the new Gotham. It gets dangerous. So tell me who said you were over dramatic?" I ask. She doesn't answer me at first. She looks down and then looks back at me.

"I talked to Jamal after I got home. I do believe in honesty, and I told him about it, and he practically said I was just overthinking," she says with a smile. She gets up from her seat and wraps her arms around me.

"I'm glad you're safe, Dick. Really," she kisses my cheek as she gives me one more tight hug. "Now I gotta get dressed. I have class today," she smiles before she enters her room.

"What did he really say, Kat?" I ask a little harshly. I don't like him. He just rubs me the wrong way. I looked up his record, and its clean. Way too clean.

"Oh nothing. Just the fact that he was glad she told him, and that she didn't have to. Dick, his record is squeaky clean. He's a good guy," Kat says softly. "I know you have feelings for Tina, but she not only does she has a boyfriend, she might not feel the same. You said that you'll respect her no matter what and I'm holding you to that," she softly places a hand on my shoulder.

"Dick, I'm just being realistic. Even if I'm rooting for the both of you, you gotta see it from both sides. Anyway, we have work in the next hour and I swear you will not be late for the umpteenth time!" She fussed. She goes to her room to change, leaving me with my thoughts.

Am I the only one that doesn't like him?!

I don’t know how long I've been in my thoughts, but Kat comes out of her room dressed and ready for the day. Time to get my game face on.

"Should we take my car or yours?" I ask as she finishes the last of her coffee, and grabs her purse and keys.

"Mine. We will get to work on time," she states as she grabs her coffee cup from the cupboard and head towards the door. I check my phone to see the time.

"We still have 45 minutes, K," I complain.

"Perfect, we can get to work ten minutes early. Today's your lucky day, Grayson," Kat winks at me as she opens the door. I throw my head back and groan.

I'm sooo not ready for this.
