*Tina's pov (on campus)*
"Hey, baby. Give me some sugar," Jamal's bright smile makes my day even brighter. I've got to talk to Dick, eat donuts, drink my favorite juice, and now see my boyfriend. This day keeps getting better and better.
I practically jump into his arms and slide my lips against his. My hands move against his broad shoulders as his hands move up and down my back. I move my lips away from his and smile at him. "Do you have a cavity yet?" I chuckle as I play with his gold necklace.
"I don't know, but I do have a sugar rush," he presses a kiss against my forehead as his arm wraps around my waist. We walk around heading towards the campus gardens. "So are you ready for our date tonight?" He asks as we sit down at a bench nearby.
"Oh yeah. I have this very pretty dress I've made, and I think you're going to like it," I chuckle as I play with his necklace. "So, do you have your muse, yet?" I ask. Jamal is a painter. His paintings have been on display at the Gotham Museum of Art three times now. They're usually about family, nature, and people. We met a year ago at the Gotham museum where I was admiring one of his paintings for a project. I saw him looking at me and boom. It's all cliche from there.
"Yeah, I have my muse. A very pretty muse," he leans in for another kiss and I give him one.
"HEYYY LOVE BIRDS!" We both groan when we hear Cecil, one of Jamal's friends.
"What do you want asshole?" Jamal chuckles as he gets up to greet his friend. I turn the other way because I never liked the way his friend looks at me. Dick is worried about the wrong person.
"Are you gonna give me a hug too, TiTi," Cecil smirks. I flip him the finger and he just laughs.
"One of these days," Cecil warns. Jamal blocks his view of me and starts whispering something to him. I can't see his reaction, but Cecil backs up to leave. Once he's out of earshot I glare at Jamal.
"Why are you friends with him? I don't like the way he stares at me, and he's a jerk," I tell him. But like everytime, he's going to a fucking excuse for him.
"Tina, he hasn't done anything to you. Yes he's a jerk, but he's like that with everyone," I glare at him as I bite back a retort. Fuck it. He needs to know that I'm done with his excuses.
"Jamal, I told you before that I'm uncomfortable with the way he looks at me, but you know what? I see the signs, you don't. When you see his ass on the news for assaulting somebody, I hope you use that weak ass excuse," I get up from the bench and head back to the main campus.
"TINA!" I ignore him. He runs past me and then stops in front of me. "Stop. Just stop. Today's been a good day, and I don't want it ruined over one person. C'mon," he laces his big hands with my mine as he places small kisses around my face. "Let's not ruin today," he says as he places a soft kiss on my lips. I don't return it. Something doesn't sit right with me, yet I can't figure out what.
For now we gotta keep it moving.
I plaster a fake smile as I link my arm with his. "Fine, lets not ruin this beautiful day. C'mon, let's get back to the main campus. My class starts in ten minutes," I tell him. Jamal smiles, and for some reason it feels like I'm seeing him differently and not in a good way.
Maybe it's Cecil messing with my mind. I don't know, but either way I feel like something is gonna happen and I can't stop it.
(That evening)
"You know I love you, Flo," I giggle into the phone. I lay my clothes across my bed to see my outfit in full. I think I'll steal the show tonight.
