*Tina's pov*
"I don't understand why you're nervous, you've seen them before," I chuckle as I put on my sapphire earrings. Today, Dick and I are having dinner with my parents before we leave for France the day after tomorrow. Our flight has been pushed back due to some type of difficulty.
Oh well. That gives me more time to tell him something that's been weighing on my mind. Although, it's not the fact that our tickets are on the same flight and next to each other.
"Shit!" A crash of some glass breaks on Dick's side of the phone. "Sorry. I just don't understand why I'm so nervous," he sighs. The poor guy has been calling me all day to settle his nerves for tonight. Gosh, it just makes him even more adorable.
"Babe, listen to me. My parents already love you as if you were their own, and no you may not call Kat, Katherine, Jason, your boss, Bruce, Tim, Wally, Genesis, Melanie, Beanie Or Damian to talk you out of this evening," I tell him. There is no way he's getting out of this dinner.
"I know that Ti, but it's still nerve-wracking. I don't know why I'm so nervous. I've been apart of life-threatening missions, I've been to space, and I've fought deadly assassins. I'm having dinner with your parents, and that's when I lose my shit," he sighs through the phone.
"Dick..." my phone suddenly buzzes with a notification from my mom.
Mom: Sooooo guess who's coming last minute? Your grandma.
"Grandma is coming? What the hell," I whisper to myself. She's going to be a tough one. Last I checked she had a hard time getting used to my step dad, who is white, but I think it was because my biological father was very close to my grandmother. She loved him like a son.
"Your grandmother is coming?!" Damn he heard me. "I don't think I'm ready. I mean I can impress your parents, but your grandma? Shiiit, I don't know, Tina."
"Dick, what do you always tell me?" He pauses for a moment to gather his thoughts. "That I've always got you," he mumbles.
"Yes now let me do the same. You have my back and I have yours. I won't let my grandma say anything disrespectful towards you. Ever," I promise him.
"Okay, Ti. I trust you," he tells me. I feel my lips tug into a smile before I respond to him.
"I trust you too. Now you'll come by in ten or twenty?" I ask as I finish putting on my concealer.
"Ten. I'm halfway dressed."
"Okay, D' I'll see you later," I smile brightly as I end the call. I look into my vanity, and start to grin.
"Tonight is going to be great. I have a good feeling about this," I tell myself.
*sometime later: Tina's parent's house*
"Look at me," I gently turn his face towards me and give him a supportive smile. Damn he's handsome. He's dressed in a simple white dress shirt with black slacks. Nice enough for dinner, but still casual. His gold necklace hides behind the collar of his shirt, but I can still see it.
"I. Got. You." I kiss him in between those words. He places a soft kiss on the palm of my hand, before pecking my lips.
"I am very lucky to have you," he smiles before giving me a small kiss on my nose. That simple gesture sends small shivers through me.
"I'm lucky to have you too. Now come on Grandma isn't here yet. Maybe dad can give you some pointers," I tell him as we both exit the car.
"Hey, honey!" My dad yells from the front door. Dick takes my hand as we walk up to the steps.
