*Dick's pov*
"You're not bullshitting? You're serious?" I ask just to make sure I'm not dreaming.
"Hell yeah. I've liked you for a very very long time. Like since we've met," she blushes. Wow I can't believe what I'm hearing.
"Wow," I say in awe. She chuckles softly before moving the little munchkin to her other shoulder.
"Yeah, it sounds weird saying it out loud. I really would love to be more than friends with you, but I don't want to lose our friendship."
"I don't think anything is going to change, Ti. As long as we communicate and we're open with each other, I'm not going to let you go," I say truthfully. In all honesty I haven't been with anyone in over a month AND I haven't been interested with anyone other than Tina.
"Oh, what happened to Mr. Love 'em and leave 'em?" She teases, but I know she's serious about the question.
"Mr. Love 'em and Leave 'em, hasn't been around since I've hung out with you." She pauses rubbing Munchkin's back before looking at me.
"Really? Not even a one night stand?" She asks.
"Not even," I smirk. Her brown eyes widen in surprise. "You're telling me you've been dry as a bone this entire time?"
"Yep." She stares at me a little longer, before she chuckles. "Hot damn, wait until I tell Kat."
"Like Kat would believe-" my phone buzzes for my attention, so I excuse myself and exit out of the kitchen.
"Heyy, is Tina there?" Barbara asks as she types something on her computer.
"Yep, what's up Barb?" Why do I have a feeling she's going to say 'I have good news and bad news?'
"Well, I have good news and bad news." Damn I called it.
"You know me, good news first."
"Okay, so we finished the favor you asked us to do. We took care of everything: the venue, the invitations, the catering, the music, and ectera. All Tina has left is just checking the clothes," she says proudly. I quietly fist pump the air before pulling myself together.
"Okay, amazing. I knew I could count on you Barb. Now what's the bad news?"
"I know who's behind these robberies, and who framed Tina. Tim and Genesis went on patrol the other day, and they found out that-" before she could finish the sentence, Tina pops her head out the kitchen with a smile on her face.
"Hey Dick, we're going to take walk around for bit. We'll be back," She tells me as she walks out with an awake Munchkin in her arms.
"Wait," I reach for her hand before she passes me, and pull her close.
"Since we're together now, you gotta give me a kiss," her eyes widen in shock, before giving me a sly smile. A deep blush darkens her cheeks as she leans up to give me a chaste kiss. Should I be satisfied with that kiss? Yes, but do I want more? Yes.
I try to go in for another one, but Munchkin puts her hand out to block my lips. "You want kissies too?" I laugh as I place quick kisses on her tiny hand.
"We'll see you in a little bit," Tina giggles before walking away from me. Wow. I can't believe we're officially together now.
"Dick? Hellooooo."
"Sorry, I thought I muted you," I shamelessly chuckle.
"Yeah, no, Lover boy. So where was I?"
"You said that you knew who was behind the robberies," I remind her.
"Oh yeah, that."
*meanwhile (Tina's pov)*
"You know, I actually hate the name TiTi, but for you and only you, I make the exception," I tell her as we head outside to the gardens.
I find a small bench in front of a small pond surrounded by colorful flowers. "You just needed some fresh air," I say knowing that she won't respond to me with words. I place her away from me, so she observe the beauty I see.
"What are you doing out here?" Damian asks as he walks up beside the small wooden bench.
"Oh, just watching the scenery. It's very peaceful out here," I say as I move to the side so he can sit next to me.
"Mm," is all he says as he hesitates taking the open seat next to me.
"I don't bite," I tease before adjusting the baby on my lap to make sure she's comfortable.
"How do I know that this isn't an illusion?" I pause immediately at his words. I slowly look at him as my hurt feelings rise to the surface. Why would I play a trick on him like that?
"I...I wouldn't do that to you," I whisper.
"You have the power of creating illusions and you're with my brother. How do I know it's not a farce?" He questions as he crosses his arms. "Grayson is gullible. Easy to manipulate. How do I know you're not deceiving him?"
"I'm not deceiving him! If I were, I'd probably be in a hospital by now, because I can't hold it for too long. Plus, my illusions are mainly environmental. I can change this space into whatever I want as long as I know what it is and what it looks like," I tell him as frustration courses through me.
"Show me then," he says tauntingly. I bite my lip to hold back a retort.
"Fine." I think of the game CandyLand and imagine the sugary sweet scenery. I slide my foot out of my sandals, and lightly touch the soft grass. A rainbow of colors cover the cobblestone pathway as the smell of sugar fills the area with gingerbread- like houses and sugar coated signs that are labeling certain spaces of the garden.
" 'Andy!" The little girl squeals as she wriggles in my lap. She tries to slide away from me, but I hold her tight.
"That isn't edible, sweetie," I tell her, but she protests by trying to escape from my arms. I quickly snap my fingers, and the garden returns to its natural state. She gasps and looks at me like I've lost my mind.
"Impressive, but I still don't trust you."
"That's on you, not me Damian," I tell him. "Why are you even doing this fashion show if you don't like me?" I'm not understanding the logic.
"I'm only doing that thing because of Grayson. I just hope you're serious, because you seemed to have moved on quick," Damian gets closer to me with a sly smirk on his face.
"If you're planning on staying with him, I would recommend you not breaking his heart and taking him away from us," he picks up the baby from my hands and places her on his hip.
"From where I'm standing, you're going to end up doing both," he sneers before striding away with the baby. My teeth are so deep into my lip, that I can taste blood. Fuck him, don't let him get to you. He's just protective of his brother.
Once Damian is out of earshot, I knock as loud as I can on the wooden bench. "I won't let him jinx me. I...I can't." Small tears rush down my face as I think about everything that's happened to me.
Am I worth the trouble?
