*Tina's pov*

Nostalgia hits me when I look around my old room. I have visited my parent's house every Sunday, but I avoided my room. I don't know why I did, maybe I was afraid of how I would feel, but that wouldn't explain all of what I was feeling.

Nothing has changed.

My twin bed stares back at me with joyous memories. We have loved, laughed, and cried together up until a year ago. Moving away from home was hard, but necessary for my growth.

I move away from my bed to look at my vanity. My trophies, journals, photos, and my sticky notes were all placed in a chaotic organized fashion on my desk. Why was I so messy? I smile to myself at the small thought before I look at the photos on my mirror.

In one picture, I was in my blue leotard en relevé with a second-place trophy in my hand while in the other I'm holding a first-place medal at a figure skating competition.

"It's a shame you had to stop. You loved to dance and to skate so much," My dad sniffs. Well, stepdad. My biological father died when I was a baby.

"You were completely devastated when the doctor told you that you couldn't dance or skate again, without risking your ankle. Your little ass still danced, and skated until you found a new passion," he says as tears roll down his rosy cheeks.

"Aww, Dad." I wrap my arms around him to comfort him. What's funny is the fact that despite us being completely different, physically wise, we are completely the same. Our love for clothes, personality, food, and travel.

"I'm so proud of you sweetie. My Blue bird. Gosh, you're going to Paris!" He chuckles as he wipes his eyes.

"Yeah, but-" I try to explain, but he gasps and quickly reaches into his pocket.

"I have something to give you!" he says cheerfully. He pulls out several envelopes and hands them to me.

"They're invitations to the fashion events happening in France. They're all V.I.P passes," my mouth drops at the news.

"Rob!" My mother calls out from the hallway. "That man will be the death of me," she mumbles.

"In here! I just gave Tina our present," he shouts.

"Shit! I thought we were going to do that together," my mom says as she enters my room.

"I just got so excited," my dad pouts as he throws his arm over my shoulders. She shakes her head and pulls me away from my dad.

"I have no idea what I'm going to do with him. My Special T, I'm so proud of you," my mother smiles as she kisses my head.

"I don't know what's worse my nicknames or the fact that I might cry," I say teasingly as I hug my mother.

"It could be much worse. I could've said Sweet potato." All three of us shiver at the name. Damn, I love the potato and the pie, but that as a nickname? Sheesh.

A doorbell sounds through the house followed by a light knock. "Oh that must be Genesis. You take her to the pool, and we can get out the refreshments," my dad yelps as he walks out of the room.

I look at my mom while she looks back at me. "How can a six foot four man, be that much of a teddy bear?" She asks.

"I have no idea," I chuckle as we both walk out of my room. My mom walks out first, leaving me the last one to close the door. I look at my nostalgia one last time before smiling.

*few minutes later*

"I'm so glad you're doing well. It gutted me to see my best friend in the hospital," Genesis says as we dip of feet into the pool. The sun shines bright against the water, reflecting it's soft light against our dark skin. I'm wearing a midnight blue one piece swimsuit underneath my t-shirt and shorts while Genesis is wearing a yellow bikini.
