*Dick's pov*
"We're here! We're here! Did she say her first word yet?!" Clark asks as Lois follows behind him with Jonathan in her arms.
"No, but it looks like she's about to. Hello, handsome. You wanna see your friend say her first word?" Selina smiles. Jon nods shyly before reaching for Clark.
"I got him honey," Clark says as he takes him out of Lois' arms. At the sound of Clark's voice, the little one looks up from playing with her toys, in Alfred's lap. She waves at Jon and then looks at Bruce with a big smile on her face.
"Da da!" she giggles as she reaches up for Bruce. The room interrupts into cheers as Bruce picks her up and twirls her around. She said it! She said it!
"My heart," Tina sniffles. I pull her into my side, and watch everyone talk excitedly.
"YES! Oh my God yes!" Selina laughs as she hugs Lois tightly. She rushes over to Bruce and pulls his head down for a kiss.
"That's what I'm talking about, baby!" Jason cheers as he kisses Beanie, and pulls Cosmo into a hug. "I can't believe it," Cosmo gasps.
"SHE SAID HER FIRST WORD!" Genesis and Tim scream together as they jump around. "Did you guys hear that?" She asks on her phone. Damn, I forgot that Maria went back to California and Florana is at Gotham university.
"You know it!" They shout through her phone.
"You know 'Da-Da' could be short for my name," Damian grunts. Melanie rolls her eyes at him as she pulls him close. "Shut up and kiss me," she says with a smirk on her face. Damian sighs, before obliging her. She whispers something to him and he cracks into a smirk.
"Say it again. I want to be sure I'm not dreaming," Bruce says to his daughter with tears in his eyes. She looks him with those big blue eyes, and places her hand on his lips. "Da da," Bruce smiles brightly and kisses her chubby cheeks.
"My heart can't take this," Tina whispers to me. I wrap my arm around her shoulders, and lead her away from the crowd.
"Let's go to the kitchen. We didn't get to eat," I say to her as we walk towards the kitchen. When we step into the kitchen area, I go to the refrigerator to pull out the lunch I had fixed early today. I meant to take my favorite girls on a picnic, but my sister decided its the perfect time to say her first word. I lay the sandwiches and drinks on the kitchen table, but notice Tina's head in her hands.
"Bad day huh?" I ask as I slide some juice towards her. Tina smiles weakly before taking the Caprisun.
"I'm that obvious, huh?" She says lowly.
"Very obvious. Wanna talk about it?" I ask as I lean over the table. I take that time to observe her. I almost laugh when I notice she still has her hair bag on. Poor Tina. She's just struggling today.
"Might as well before I explode. I'll tell you what I'm most worried about," she laughs dryly. I nod my head for her to continue as I get the picnic basket out.
"So I have to coordinate a fashion show in a month. I have to a) fund this show myself b) hire models c) find a venue and d) try to be original. Oh and let's not forget, the person who creates the best fashion show, gets to go to Paris. Totally, no pressure. I don't know how the hell I'm going to fund this, I might need sell some clothing in order to make some money. God, this is going to take everything thing I've got," she rants as she hits her head against the table.
"Well...you could save money and ask-" I wait for her to finish the sentence, but she says something completely the opposite of what I'm thinking about.
"People around the school! I can make flyers," I turn around, so she can't see me shake my head. "Dick, you're a genius!" I hear her get out of her chair to hug me. I turn around to hug her back, but I almost into her lips. Why do they look so soft?
She blushes as I clear my throat and look somewhere else. "So...we should get going. Those sandwiches aren't going to eat themselves," I say lamely as I scratch the back of my neck.
"What? I thought we were going to eat here," she asks awkwardly as we both move away from each other.
"Well...it was going to be my surprise you know? I was going to take my favorite girls out on a picnic, but you know-" I explain as a blush hits my cheeks.
"I understand completely, so lets not waste time. I'm starving," she chuckles as she takes the picnic basket.
"Also...I'm your favorite girl?" Tina asks just before she walks out of the kitchen door.
"Favorite isn't even the half of it, Ti. You're my best friend," and the girl of my dreams, but I won't tell her that.
"You're my best friend too, D. You're part of my 'Top ten favorite people to hang around' list," she grins. I feel my heart beat faster when she does that. Her simple smile can change my attitude from terrible to great in a matter of seconds. Although she practically friendzoned me.
I smile in response before walking to her. "Let's go before I forget all about our fun picnic," I chuckle as I follow her out of this house. I might be friendzoned, but its only temporary.
