"this ice cream is so good," jimin said, taking another bite, letting the strawberry flavor hit his tongue.
after the two had their little shower session, joon suggested they go to the mall together. jimin loved the idea, even wearing the cozy pink sweater that joon had gifted him all those months ago. they were currently seated at the ice cream shop inside the mall, happily enjoying a little treat in between shopping.
"it is good," namjoon said, enjoying his choice of mint chocolate chip.
jimin quickly shook his head.
"mine is good. yours tastes like toothpaste."
namjoon scoffed.
"i'll have you know, mint chocolate chip tastes amazing."
jimin laughed at him, taking another bite of his ice cream.
namjoon did the same, looking up and seeing that jimin had somehow managed to get some ice cream around the bottom of his lip, not being able to hold back a little laugh.
"what?" jimin asked, swallowing another bite.
"you have a little something..," joon said, setting his ice cream down and grabbing onto jimin's chin, angling his head slightly up to look at him.
"oh," jimin said, blushing, reaching for his napkin and going to wipe his lips off.
"wait," joon said, stopping him, "i got it."
joon leaned over the table a bit, connecting his lips to jimin's.
jimin returned the action, deepening the kiss. they were both doing a light sucking motion, namjoon eventually bringing his tongue into the mix, tracing it over jimin's bottom lip, getting a taste of the sweet strawberry ice cream.
jimin let out a small little groan into the kiss, joon knowing just how to work it.
namjoon pulled away after a few more seconds, knowing it was bordering on being a bit inappropriate for a public kiss.
"no~" jimin whined, "keep kissing me."
joon just laughed, with a shake of his head.
"when we get home."
jimin sighed, going back to his ice cream.
he continued eating before he stopped when he heard someone at the table beside them speak up.
"mommy, why are those two boys kissing?"
jimin's lips parted, looking over and seeing a little girl holding an ice cream cone. she was sitting at a table with her mom- or at least that's what jimin assumed.
"well, that's simple," the mom started, with a small chuckle, using a napkin to wipe the ice cream off her daughter's face, "they love each other."
the girl thought for a second, before looking over to jimin.
jimin was shocked at first, considering he had been sitting there and watching the whole conversation. but he quickly smiled at her, with a small nod, completely forgetting his hand was still intertwined with namjoon's across the table.
the little girl smiled back, before turning back to her mom.
"oh," she said, taking another bite of her ice cream, "they seem really happy."
the mom nodded.
"they do."
the girl just sat there for a minute, before another question popped in her head.
"so... can boys get married, too?" she asked, genuinely curious,
the mother nodded.
"yes," she said, "in most places."
the girl frowned.
"why not all places?"
the mother just sighed.
"well... some places... they're not as... accepting. it's looked at as a negative thing," she said.
the girl looked confused again.
"love is looked at as a negative?" the little girl asked, seemingly not quite understanding the whole thing.
her mom nodded.
"it's strange, isn't it?"
the girl nodded back.
"i have another question."
the mom agreed, telling her to go ahead and ask.
"can they have babies?"
the mom almost choked on her ice cream, afterward breaking out into a small laugh, even jimin laughing as well as he listened in on the conversation.
"they can... sort of," she started, "they can't have their own.., but they can adopt... and there are other ways."
the girl nodded.
"...well, that's good," she said, "they deserve it. they deserve what everyone else has."
jimin was watching the whole display, a small smile on his face.
he finally turned back to namjoon, realizing he was way more focused on his ice cream than the mother and daughter talking.
jimin just smiled at his adorable boyfriend, watching as he focused on eating his food, looking absolutely stunning and perfect.
jimin continued staring at him, before joon looked up at him, smiling a little, while he ate another spoonful, his cute dimples showing.
"what is it?"
jimin just smiled.
"i'm just... i'm... i'm really happy."
namjoon smiled back, nodding in agreement.
"i'm happy, too."
the two just stared at each other for a minute, joon getting lost in the boy's eyes.
jimin was breathtaking.
"you're so beautiful," namjoon whispered, staring at him, watching as jimin's cheeks turned a bit pink, "i think about it every time i see you, but i don't say it enough."
jimin just bit his bottom lip, trying to hide his big smile, eyes glimmering.
"and... i love you," joon said, "so much."
jimin giggled, still staring into joon's eyes, before speaking up.
"i always think it's not possible to love you any more than i already do, but everyday i fall harder," jimin said, reaching over the table to squeeze his hand again.
and the two felt so, so happy together.
they never wanted that feeling to go away- ever, praying it could last forever.
