"sorry again that you got sick," namjoon said, holding him close, "i know that sucks."
namjoon made it back to jimin's dorm after a few more classes, happy that he could leave school and go nurse jimin back to health. he made his boyfriend some food and gave him some more medicine, before cuddling up with him in bed. he had put everything his teacher told him aside. he knew what his choice was already, anyway. he wouldn't leave jimin. he never would. moving schools wasn't an option- even if it was the best school in korea.
"it's okay, joon," jimin said, smiling and moving his face closer to his, "i feel a lot better now that you're here."
usually jimin moving so close would be namjoon's cue to kiss him, but he didn't. joon just gave him a small smile back and he could tell jimin was picking up on the strange behavior. he wasn't trying to act weird, but he couldn't help it. he felt like he was keeping something from jimin, even though it wasn't important to him anyway. there was no real reason to tell jimin considering he already knew he wasn't going, but he still felt like he was lying.
and it wasn't a great feeling.
namjoon was broken away from his thoughts when he saw the pout his boyfriend was sporting.
"are you okay?" jimin asked, softly, clearly a little confused about why his boyfriend was being so distant, "you seem like somethings on your mind."
namjoon quickly shook his head, almost forgetting that jimin could read his emotions better than he could read them himself.
"no, no, i'm fine. sorry. it was just a weird day at school without you," namjoon said, figuring he wasn't exactly lying with that statement, "classes go by a lot faster when you're there."
jimin nodded, still feeling a bit off.
"that's it?" he asked, "nothing.... happened?"
"no," namjoon said again, feeling a pang of guilt in his chest from the lie, "nothing."
he didn't know why he lied, really. he knew jimin could always tell when he wasn't being honest and he also knew he needed to tell jimin at some point anyway. it wasn't like it was even a big deal to him so he didn't understand why it was so hard to tell the boy. the offer from the college meant nothing to him, really. it didn't.
jimin nodded, falling quiet for a moment.
"did you see aruem today?" jimin asked, "or hoseok?"
"i did," namjoon said, "but just for a few minutes."
"what did they say?"
namjoon just looked at him.
"jimin, they didn't say anything. nothing happened," namjoon said, falling back to lay flat on jimin's bed.
"nothing?" jimin questioned, sitting up a bit so he could see his boyfriend, clearly still suspicious.
"nothing," namjoon said, again.
jimin stared at his boyfriend who was currently laying flat on his bed, not being able to help it when a smile made it's way to his face.
jimin let himself lower down onto the bed, his arms coming over on either side of his head to trap him.
jimin gave namjoon 'the look' while raising his eyebrows, trying one last time to get his boyfriend to crack.
"you promise me?" jimin asked.
namjoon stared up at him for a moment, shifting eye contact.
"yeah... yeah i promise."
jimin's suspicious facial expression slowly melted away at that, letting a small smirk replace it.
"fine," jimin said, leaning down and pecking his lips, "i'll let you off the hook."
jimin laughed after that then leaned down to continue kissing him, before laying back on the bed and getting himself situated in his position beside joon.
somewhere deep down jimin knew there was more to the story.
but right now he was too weak, tired, and vulnerable to push any further. for now he was just enjoying being in namjoon's arms. that was enough for him today.
but in the back of jimin's mind he knew that the second he felt better,
he would get to the bottom of it.
