"so... you're just friends, then?" jimin asked.
a few days had gone by and school finals were finally over. everything had gone surprisingly well for jimin, with the help from namjoon, of course. all the students were on break for a few days, so jimin and hoseok planned to meet up at the lake on campus to walk around and chat. some time had passed since the last time they talked and they both wanted to clear the air between them and catch up.
"yeah... for now," hoseok said, "it's good... being friends. i missed her like crazy, i'm just happy she doesn't hate me anymore."
jimin nodded.
"so... will you guys ever get back together?"
hoseok sighed.
"i mean... of course i want to. i...i love her. but i think we both need some time. i'm sure we'll get back together eventually... if aruem wants to, of course."
jimin just smiled at him.
"i think she does," jimin said, "when i talked to her she seemed over the moon about you. i think she's just scared to get hurt again."
hoseok nodded.
"i don't blame her. i messed up really bad."
jimin shrugged.
"worse things have happened," he said, bumping his shoulder into hoseok's teasingly, "i know i'm pretty irresistible."
hoseok just rolled his eyes with a laugh.
"you are," he said, shaking his head, "it's annoying."
jimin just smiled a bit to himself.
he had grown to like hoseok, he really did. it's not like he was in love with the man, he really wouldn't even consider hobi a crush. those roles were already taken by namjoon, of course. no one could beat that. but jimin still very well enjoyed his company, none the less.
"so... what were you planning to do after this?" hoseok asked, just casually making conversation.
"i was gonna meet joon at the café. now that i think about it, i told him i'd meet him at one," jimin said, pulling out his phone to check the time, seeing that it was already twelve fifty-five, "shit. that went by fast."
hoseok nodded.
"well i actually have my shift at two," he said, with a laugh, "and weirdly enough, i was gonna meet aruem beforehand."
jimin looked surprised.
"well, that's a weird coincidence."
"it is weird."
and before they knew it, the boys were dashing to the café, running across the campus, catching many looks from fellow students.
-
by the time they arrived at the door, the two were panting, jimin putting his hand on the side of the building to hold himself up.
"yikes," jimin said, still breathing heavy, "i should really start working out or something."
hoseok nodded in agreement.
"ditto."
after the two stood there for a few more seconds, they walked into the café, hoseok being greeted by a few employees on the way in.
the two walked further in and were met with joon sitting at a table alone, smiling cutely at something on his phone.
namjoon pulled his head up when he felt someone take a seat next to him, smiling when he saw jimin.
