Chapter2; Two dead bodies and some new friends

Adriàn cursed under his breath as Reese and him trudged through the forest "so what exactly are we looking for?" Adriàn asked "a missing girl" Reese replo "do you even know what the girl looks like?" Adriàn asked "crap didn't think that through" Reese replied as Adriàn rolled his eyes, "let's just keep looking we might find something" said Adriàn "most likely a dead body" Reese added.
Jake panted as his best friend Will leaned against a tree trying to catch his breath, "my chest hurts" he moaned as he flopped on the ground that was blanketed with reddish yellow leaves "that's because your stamina sucks" said Will as Jake glared at him "don't kill me for saying the truth" said Will, "whatever" Jake muttered as he stood up brushing the leaves and dust off himself, "come one let's go" he said to Will as they continued down the forest.
Cameron had no clue where he was going and what he was doing, what he did know was that something interesting was going down. "Do you know where we're going?" Cameron asked his brother, "no not exactly" Cal replied as he glanced at the map of the forest, "but you have a map" said Cam, "that is utterly useless" Cal added as Cam groaned "just don't get is us lost" he said.
Sage made sure to avoid the police cars and her mother as she snuck into the forest using a different route. Based on the route the police cars had taken Sage could only assume the body was found in the middle of the woods. She sighed as her flashlight went off "great" she muttered under her breath as she unzipped her bag searching extra batteries when she found none, she groaned and zipped up her bag "guess I'll have to make do then" she said as she trudged down the forest.
Freddie ran through nthe bristly roots and branches ignoring the scratches they left on his skin his main concern was burning up all his adrenaline. He was running at fun speed when he knocked into somebody. The stranger and him went toppling to the ground, him landing on top of the stranger, "get off me" the stranger groaned, it was a girl around his age with short pale blonde hair with pale pink low lights and light pink eyes, Freddie rolled off her "sorry" he muttered "what where you doing running through the woods like a maniac?" The girl asked as she stood up and brushed the dirt off herself "burning adrenaline, you?" He replied "looking for a missing girl" she replied, Freddie frowned "a dead body was found here and a girl is missing" she explained, Freddie frowned "I don't think there's ever been a case of murder here" said Freddie as he followed the girl "exactly, which is why I, I'm here" she said "no offense but you're twelve what are you going to do if you find the girl of she's even alive" said Freddie as they walked through the forest "wow, that was pessimistic" said the girl, Freddie shrugged "I'm just saying" he said "anyways you haven't told me your name" he said "Sage" she said, "you?" "Freddie" he replied.
Irena was seriously reconsidering walking through the woods in nothing but a nightgown and no flashlight she was literally begging to be killed. She was walking through the forests wincing as the bristly branches stretched her skin "someone seriously needs to trim the roots here" she muttered as yet another branch cut her skin, "okay, I am going to freaking.." Irena's voice trailed off as the bush behind her rustled, she frowned as the bush rustled louder, she raised her fists ready to fight of need be even though she couldn't fight she wouldn't go down easy "c'mon show yourself" said Irena "geez, take it easy I come on peace" a girl's voice replied as she stepped out from behind the bushes, she was about a few inches shorter than Irena which wasn't suprising considering Irena was pretty tall for her age, with dark brown skin that glowed and even darker freckles on the bridge of her nose her lips were turned upwards in a playful smile and her dark brown eyes with flecks of what looked like red were dancing with laughter curly dark hair had leaves sticking out of it "who are you?" Irena asked "promise you wouldn't kill me?"   The girl joked as Irena rolled her eyes "Ava, Ava Addams" said the girl "so who are you?" Ava asked "Irena, Irena Brooks" she replied "cool" Ava replied "so you don't happen to be here looking for a dead body or something of that sort do you?"  Ava asked "dead body? Is that why there are so many police cars?" Irena asked Ava nodded "apparently a girl was murdered and her friend went missing" said Ava.
Haylee and Kimberly walked trudged through the forest. Haylee bouncing on her toes Kimberly could literally see they adrenaline running through her best friend's veins as they continued their journey "what do you think they're looking for?" Kimberly asked Haylee shrugged "a cult? Their? Evil scientist" "or maybe a murderer" Kimberly suggested "there hasn't been any murders in Ceford Valley in like fifty years" said Haylee "maybe this is the very first" said Kimberly.
Will led the way Jake jogging behind him, his pants echoing through the forest "can we take a break?" Jake panted "we took one five minutes ago". Will replied "I know but I don't have monstrous stamina like you" said Jake "okay" Will replied as Jake collapsed on the ground "my muscles are sore" he groaned "I swear Will if I drop dead during the field trip I'm suing you" Jake moaned as Will rolled his eyes at his best friend's dramatics, "I'm going to take a short walk I'll be back" he said to Jake, "sure, leave your best friend here to die" Jake replied an arm over his face as Will pushed past the bushes.
"Shit!" He cussed, as Jake got up"what's up?" He asked as he pushed past the bushes, "what the hell?!" He muttered, an animal was hanging upside down it's body suspended by roots that were wrapped around it's ankles, abdomen and throat, it's head was missing and it's stomach was ripped open so it's intestines were pouring out, flies were already starting to feat on it, Jake's face paled "who did this?" He muttered "no, what did this, this...this isn't human" said Will.
"Oh my f.." Reese's voice trailed off as he stared at the poor creature that was suspended upside down by it's ankles "shit!" Adriàn muttered the head was missing and it's stomach was ripped open so it's intestines were slowly pouring out "it's a deer" Reese muttered "was a deer" said Adriàn, as Reese took out his phone and took a quick shot "come on let's go" he said.
Cam groaned his legs were aching after walking for hours none stop "Cal we need to take a break" he said "fine" Cal replied as Cam leaned backwards towards a tree his foot made a weird squelching noise he looked down he was stepping in a puddle of blood, he looked up "bloody hell!!! Cal you've got to see this!!" He said as his Cal jogged up to him and looked up.
Irena and Ava walked in comfortable silence "we've been walking for hours and we still haven't found anything" Irena complained "be patient" Ava replied as they walked through yet another bush, Ava flashed her flashlight bathing the area in light, she could see two boys standing in front of a tree she frowned and pointed her flashlight upwards.
Haylee jogged ahead of Kimberly who was finding it. Hard to keep up with her friend. Haylee made her way through some bushes Kimberly behind her she noticed four people staring at a tree "what's happening?" Kimberly asked "I don't know" Haylee replied as she turned her gaze upwards.
Sage and Freddie walked through the forest in relative silence, with Freddie fidgeting ever three seconds the last traces of adrenaline leaving his body as they walked through a bush, "who are those guys?" Freddie asked as Sage nudged his side "look up" she said and he did.
Jake and Will pushed past the bushes that lay behind the dead animal, Jake frowned "why are those guys here?" Said Jake "they're all looking up" Will muttered as Jake and him looked up.
Reese and Adriàn pushed past the bushes behind the dead deer, "whoa what's going on?" Reese asked "Reese look up at that tree" said Adriàn, as Reese looked up.
The girl's body hung limply suspended upwards by the roots that were tied around her neck, her throat was slit open so blood dropped down the roots, her eyes were open wide, her mouth agape in horror and her stomach was sliced open so her guts were pouring out "well we found the missing girl, so thumbs up to us" said Reese "what the hell is going on?" Said Jack he looked confused "there was a missing girl?" Will added, "oh my god I'm going to puke" said Freddie his face turning green "my stomach can't handle this" said Kimberly "will someone please explain what the hell is going on here" said Jake, "okay, there's another dead body here in the woods that the police know about they're still looking for this body" said Adriàn "there hasn't been any murders in Ceford Valley for like fifty years" said Will "well you know what they say first time for everything" said Reese "anyways who are you guys?" Ava asked

"Well, I'm Ava and that's Irena" said Ava, "okay now that the introductions are over what are going to do about this DEAD BODY?!!" Said Adriàn, as Reese took a picture "first of all we need to gather as much clues as we can using this body then we can compare it to the other body and maybe find a pattern or something" said Reese "my stepmom's the pathologist they called but I don't think she'll be the one writing the autopsy report" said Reese "my mom works for the emergency department I can get the reports and maybe sneak us into the morgue" said Ava "great" said Reese "guys look there's something on the bark of the tree" said Sage engraved in the bark of the tree was a star with a circle around it and a spiral inside it, "this is definitely  not normal" Sage muttered
