CHAPTER 14; The True Heroes

The ropes were tightening, Haylee was trying her best to summon her powers as the witches fist tightened, her chest tightened as blood dripped down her nose, "Haylee stop trying to use your powers!" Said Kimberly, Haylee ignored her closing her eyes she focused on the feeling of the azure and red flames swirling around her, she clenched her fist and opened her eyes, they were glowing bronze, her body burst in flames burning the webs that trapped, Ava, Kimberly and her. The witch stumbled backwards, fear written on her face as Haylee charged for her, grabbing the witch by her neck and slamming her into a wall, the witch coughed up blood and laughed her skin turned transparent "the deed is done" she said and just like that she vanished.
Hina focused her energy on her left arm as her fingers grazed the hilt of her Watazhagi (the smaller samurai sword samurai's have two swords the Katana and the Watazhagi). The swirling vortex grew larger as the witch thrust out her hand, sending the swirling vortex straight at them, Hina gripped her Watazhagi and in my be quick movement unsheathed it, she focused all her powers on her sword channelling the light as her sword burst into brilliant gold beams of light, she slashed the vortex, she used her Watazhagi to slice the straps, the witch growled as she charged for Hina with her blood nails, Hina slashed her nails in half and kicked the witch backwards, the witch stumbled as she sent scatter shots of blood beams at Hina, who nimbly dodged them all, the witch growled creating a blood whip which she cracked it headed for Hina, it's curly length seeking to wrap around her like a snake she spun in the opposite direction her sword in her left hand, slicing the whip to pieces the witch stumbled backwards as Hina charged for her in one last desperate attempt she sent another blood beam at Hina who simply blocked it with the flat of her blade, the witch smiles had managed to keep her distance from Hina and with her short sword she would have to attack head-on of she wanted to kill her, she slammed her hand to the ground creating blood spikes, Hina jumped forward over the spikes and towards the witch and in one clean movement as gravity pushed her back down she sliced off the witches head.
Irena coughed and coked hot blood dribbling down the edges of her mouth and throat, her skin was scorching and her cells felt like they were melting, she clutched her chest trying to breath as she focused on cooling her system, she closed her eyes gathered her strength and let out a guttral scream, ice spikes shot out of the ground, an icy cold blast of air, froze everything in sight, covering the hospital in ice. Irena exhaled and inhaled gathering herself she stood up shakily, Jake and Will were passed out on the floor still trying to recover, Irena whipped around looking for the witch but she had vanished.
Freddie gulped as the witch approached Sage and him like a turbo powered bone drill, 'Sage any ideas?' Freddie asked, 'run' was Sage's reply, he looked at her and then at the witch, Sage nodded, so he ran round and around the wind behind him forming a hurricane as he charged straight for the witch. The sheer force of his hurricane blew the witch backwards and the pressure sliced her bones in half "you haven't won!" She hissed as she disappeared.
Mr. Ronsith thrust out his arm, his tentacles wrapping around Elenore's and crushing them, before she could make another move his tentacles had already grabbed her squeezing her tight, "kill me, but that won't stop what is about to happen" she said, "I know, I won't kill you, I'll force you to tell me what you know" he said.
When Cam could see again, Cal had broken free from the bonds, the wall behind them had been destroyed in fact the entire section were they battled the witch was in shambles, "Cal?" Cam called. No answer. He pushed through the debris until he found Cal, his eyes were still glowing amber, and so was his skin, he had the witch in a choke hold, "you killed my dad!" He yelled squeezing her throat harder the witch let out a choked chuckle, "Cal calm down" said Cam placing a hand on his brother's shoulder "I am calm!" He yelled, Cam shook his head "drop the witch and we'll head to the station for all we know your dad could be alive" Cam reasoned, Cal dropped the witch his eyes fading to their natural light green color "okay" he said.
"Hey guys where are you going?" Kimberly asked Haylee, Ava and she were seated leaning against the wall, "this whole hospital thing was a set up, they were after the sheriff's station" Cam explained, "shit" Haylee muttered "I'll get the others" said Ava as she hobbled to the microphone connected to the intercom "guys the hospital was a setup, they were after the sheriff's station so head to the parking lot we leave in five" said Ava.
Five minutes later the team were at the parking lot and two minutes later Mr. Ronsith appeared a witch slung over his shoulder "what the hell?" Said Jake "we're using her to get information" Mr. Ronsith replied chucking the witch into Reese's boot. The ride to the station took five minutes, and as soon as Reese's can was in the parking lot Cal shot out of the car and into the station.
Cal's heart beat wildly in his chest, the door had been ripped off it's hinges, broken glass littered the floor and so did blood. He stepped over quite a few bodies searching for his dad, "Cal?" Called out a weak voice, Cal whipped around "dad?" He called "I'm by my office" he replied. Sheriff Brent was covered with small cuts and bruises but there was a huge gash on his shoulder that went down to his sides and a smaller one on his belly, he was loosing blood very fast, "call the hospital" Sheriff Brent wheezed as Cal applied pressure on his wound "I just came out from there, I don't think they'll be open any time soon" said Cal as Mr. Ronsith made his way towards them, "I might be a librarian but I can help your father and his men" said Mr. Ronsith.
"Guys this is bad they've killed all nine sacrifices!" Said Reese, they were gathered in Mr. Ronsith's underground lair, it was the following day after the incident, "Reese chill" said Adriàn placing his hands on Reese's shoulder, Reese frowned "the full moon is next week Friday and immediately after that is the blood moon and we still don't know what the witches are planning" said Reese "I know that they'll come back to steal the bodies" said Sage "probably during the full moon when are powers are haywire" said Irena, "you're certainly right" said Elenore, everyone turned to face her "sorry for ruining the moment" she said, "so Elenore what is the whole purpose of this sacrifice?" Will asked "simple, the witches plan to raise the most powerful witch to ever exist" said Elenore, "Nyx" .
