The Seed to a Problem

"I messed up... I messed up Cali..."

"Meow."

Katie was sitting on her bed while hugging her knees. She couldn't sleep. The guilt lingered in her heart.

Cali brushed herself on her owner. The feline also felt the unhappy feeling. She nudged her legs to take her attention away.

"Thanks for being here with me Cali..." Katie wiped away her tears before petting the cat she adored so deeply. "I couldn't imagine what I'd do without you."

With Ryder

"Where am I?" the teen boy said as he stood in the empty dark room he's in.

He reached for his pocket to grab his pup pad, but he couldn't find it. He decided to walk around.

He could feel walls, but when he reached back, he couldn't feel anything. It's like the wall wasn't there.

He tried to see, but even with his enhanced sight, there's nothing. He then crouched down, trying to use his trick to locate what's around him.

By slightly tapping the floor, he felt for the difference in vibration. But he was mind boggled. All felt the same, so either he's in an enclosed room or out in the open.

"Well... That ain't gonna work..."

Then the temperature dropped down to freezing cold, nearly unbearable. After a while, Ryder started to shiver, trying to preserve his heat.

The surroundings suddenly yet slowly became lighter. The sky was still dark but he could see trees all around him. The freezing temperature slowly went up, but not much.

He felt snow around his feet. "I think I'm in Jake's mountain..."

He began to walk aimlessly, only using his instincts to hopefully find Jake's cabin. He trekked uphill so he could see and calculate his current height.

At last he could see the bay below. "I'm quite high... So the cabin should be below me..."

He began walking down, occasionally slipping since he didn't wear his snow boots. The chilly temperature stiffen his muscles, making it harder to move.

Suddenly, he tripped over a branch. He thought he was going to fall on the snow, but he gasped as he fell into a hole. The freezing water greeted him as he plunged inside.

"I need to get out of here!"

He started swimming to the edge, hoping to find land. The current dragged his body deeper in the water. He tried to keep his head above the water.

Another strong current brought him underwater. As soon as he went up again, he sensed something was wrong.
