Misused

"Where am I?"

Ryder looked around. He was in his room, but there's no one. Not even the pups. He grabbed the pup pad, but it's not in his pocket.

"Hmm that's odd..."

The surrounding air was eerily cold, as if the air conditioning was turned on to the lowest settings.

He looked around the room to see if his pup pad is around. He ran to the second floor, unfortunately it wasn't there too.

"I think I misplaced it... But where?"

He went out. The bunker was somewhat empty.

"Where is everyone?"

He walked around, searching for his pups. He called their names, but only silence replied to him. They're nowhere to be seen.

He ran towards the Patroller, hoping that he'll find anyone, but no avail. It seemed like everyone disappeared.

"We meet again..."

Ryder turned around. It was that boy from the simulation few days ago. However his figure seemed a bit weird.

"You don't seem that scared of me." his static voice said.

"Who are you?"

"Like I said before..." he creeper forward with a knife and placed it ever so softly on Ryder's neck. "You and I... Are not that different..."

He flicked his hand away, but instead the mysterious figure glitched and returned to where he was standing.

"You still haven't answered my question." Ryder sternly stated.

"Oh haven't I?" his eerie glitchy voice whispered in his ear as the blade grazed along Ryder's skin. "I thought I've made it clear... Well then... I hope my appearance clears everything up..."

The figure took a few steps back. A black wisp surrounded him. Ryder also took a few steps back in case he lunges at him.

However, everything began to turn static and faded to black. Ryder felt himself unable to move as if he's being locked in place by unseen forces. He wriggled and writhes, but still he couldn't move.

Then a wave of fatigue and dizziness hit him like he's been hit with a truck.

"What's happening... Why am I so tired..."

He heard someone bickering, but he couldn't recognize who. He was too tired and the voices dimmed out with time.

Near the Infirmary

"It's nearly your time for the rounds right Jones?" Beth asked.

"Yes, that's true doctor." the female nurse replied. "I'll take some stuff first to prepare."

"Is it okay if I replace you for this one?" the doctor asked.

"It's totally okay. But if I may ask, why? Usually you never check on patients yourself..."

"I just... Felt like I need to see him with my own eyes..."

"Don't you trust us?"

"I do... But I just want to make sure that he's alright... You've seen his blood results right?"

"Yeah, I've seen it... I can't believe such useful tech was used horribly on someone as young as him..."
