Interference

"I'm here!" Marshall trotted to the husky who's lying in the middle of the room, gazing towards the glimmering projection.

"That took you a while." she chuckled and gave him a smile.

"Gotta be smart or the pups will know about us- woah!"

The dally slipped by accident and flopped right on top of Everest.

"Oops... Sorry about that." the dally sheepishly chuckled and got off her.

"It's alright Marshall." she stood up and floofed her fur.

A sudden grumble echoed throughout the auditorium. Their ears perked up before one pair flopped down.

"S-Sorry... I got excited and kinda skipped dinner." Everest blushed.

"Skipping meals is not healthy you know?" Marshall gave her a lick on the cheek. "Wait here. I'll be right back."

He left the husky alone. Not long after, he came with a tray of dog food and water.

"Here." he placed down the tray in front of her. "I grabbed the liver flavor since you love that the most."

"What about you?"

"I already had my dinner." he smiled. "Go on."

"Thanks Marshall."

She munched on the food. Marshall didn't realize that he's staring at her. "So this is how it feels to watch an eating show... Kinda liked it"

Even when Everest finished her meal and took a few sips of water, he was still looking at her with stars in his eyes.

"Are you okay Marshall??" she waved her paw in front of his face. "Hello?? Earth to Marshall??"

"W-Wha?" he shook his head. "I-I'm fine." he blushed.

"So... Let's continue stargazing, shall we?"

"Mhm!"

In the Corridor

"What do you mean I've been fooled? Who even are you??"

"Who I am is not the main concern at the moment." the man paused. "You'll see that you've been played yourself."

The mysterious caller hung up. Ryder's head was filled with questions.

"That was weird... Maybe it's just a prank call..."

At the end of the call, the man sighed. "I hope I did the right thing..."

He walked out from the room and muttered a sentence.

"I've done it... I hope you're right about this."

Back in the bunker, Ryder thought about the call. What if what he said was true? Someone did fool him? But who?

Who would play a trick on him? Or maybe the pups was tricked. Or maybe everyone fell to the trap.

He opened the door to his room and he was greeted with the sight of the pups sleeping on their cushions. He realized that someone turned off the TV.

"Shh Ryder. You'll wake everyone up." a whisper came from the stairs. The spotted pup came into his view.

"It's only around 7.30. Why did you came back so early?"

"Everest fell asleep." the dally yawned. "I think we're all tired from the mission earlier... Can I sleep earlier?"

"Sure thing pup." he smiled. "I'll sleep later... I need to do something."
