Sparking Jealousy

It was 9 pm. Ryder and the pups were in their room except for Tracker and Everest since they want to have some time with their owners.

The pups was already asleep. They had too many races before their bedtime.

Chase was about to sleep but then he saw Ryder working on some stuff in the office area.

"Ryder sir." He called. "Aren't you going to sleep?"

"Not yet Chase." he replied as he turned his chair to him while holding a pen.

Chase saw a paper on the table. Driven by curiosity, he came closer.

"What's this?" he asked as he stood with his hind legs to have a better view.

Intricate calculations and graphs were displayed on that paper sheet. There's also a picture of a strange device.

"Just some calculations... This device can restore Adventure Bay... But the placement will determine how long and how effective it'll be." he explained as he dragged the paper closer to him.

"Really? Adventure Bay is already a wreck... How does this device work?" Chase asked again.

"I don't know for sure... But what I've read from my mom's journals, it uses a nanotechnology system. The system had programmed the overall structure, but the placement have to be as strategic as possible to have the fastest results."

The pupper went back on all fours before yawning.

"You should sleep Chase.. It's getting late." Ryder said before doing some more calculations.

"I- *yawn* ain't gonna sleep until you do." He said sleepily.

Ryder sighed. He knew that he couldn't let his pup stay up all night for him, but on the other hand, he needed to work on it. After a short thought, he decided to call it a day.

"Alright Chase... I'll- oh..." He stood up and turned around. Chase was already asleep.

He silently chuckled before carrying the pup to his pup house.

The Next Day

Ryder got a call while playing with the pups.

"Hello, Ryder here." He greeted.

"Ryder! Help me!" it's Ace.

"Where are you?" he asked as he walked away from the pups.

"I'm in Adventure Bay... I got the news on what happened to the city, but I kinda forgot to fuel up my plane fully. I unfortunately need to do an emergency landing near the park... Or what's left of it." she explained as she showed him her surroundings and her plane.

"The citizens are currently taking refuge. The PAW Patrol will escort you here until it's clear enough for you to continue your journey." Ryder said.

"But what about Amelia?" she asked about her dear plane.

"We'll take her too." he reassured her. "We'll be right there!"

He ended the call and soon called the pups to gather.

The meeting was short, only Chase and Rocky were assigned. The PAW Patroller and the rest of the pups were on standby in the bunker.

Ryder led the two pups to the now unnoticeable park. The benches were charred and the playground looked like it could crumble any minute.
