Chapter 8: Official Girlfriend

I was the happiest I have ever been in the entire world. I mean it just risked it and kissed Luke and I punched Collin and I told someone that I loved them. I still don't know what our relationship is, but I guess I'll find out at school and see what happens.

I got to school and walked over to where all the boys are and said, "Hey guys."

"Hey Chelsea. I heard about you and Luke." Greyson said excitingly.

"What are you talking about?"

"I think you know exactly what we're talking about." I was playing dumb at first. "We know that you and Luke had a moment and kissed."

"Oh that's what you were talking about."

"So what are you guys then? Are y'all finally together?" Ricky asked.

"I....I have no idea. We never really confirmed it."

"Well it looks like your about to find out." He said pointing in the direction behind me where Luke was walking in.

He walked over to where we were and he acted normal as he said, "Hey guys."

"Hey Luke," they all said.

He then turned to me and asked, "Hey Chelsea I've been meaning to ask you if you wanted to go to dinner with me this Saturday at five?"

"Uh, yeah sure that will be great. Where will we be going?"

"Well it's kind of a surprise."

"Well what should I wear?"

"Anything you like, but nothing too fancy."

"Alright. I'll see you then. Can't wait." I smiled.

The week went by so fast and we were undeafeated in football.

Saturday I started getting ready. I put on my tight fitted light blue jeans and my white lace crop top that shows my blue dreamcatcher belly button ring. I curled my hair and put on my makeup. I put on so white sandels and realized I was finally ready. I grabbed my phone and then I heard the door bell and opened it. I saw Luke standing outside. He was wearing a white button up shirt with light brown shorts. He was smiling at me and asked, "Are you ready to go?"

"Yeah I am." I was kind a disappointed at how he didn't compliment me or anything. We walked to his truck and I got in and then asked, "Where are we going anyways?"

"I said it was a surprise." He said smiling.

We sat in silence for a little bit and when we came into a stop I noticed we were at the beach. "Why are we at the beach?"

"You'll find out soon enough. Come on." We both got out and walk on the sand. We walked along the beach and then we came to a basket of food and a blanket. He had made a picnic for this little date of ours or whatever this dinner is. "A picnic? Really? I've never had a picnic before."

"Really? We'll I'm glad I'm the first." He smiled. We walked toward the basket and I noticed it had fruit like cantolope and watermelon cubes, and some grapes, then there was some sandwiches. We sat down on the blanket and ate the food.

"So why did you decide to bring me to a picnic on the beach?"

"To watch the sunset. It's so pretty, I come down here to think while I watched the sun."

The sun started to go down. "Wow, it really is pretty." We watched the sunset go down and I was still confused on what we are. I mean are we going out or am I just the person he comes to to kiss and help them win games. I really wanted to ask him, but I was afraid of what his answer was going to be. I looked at him and before I could stop my mouth I asked, "Hey Luke, can I ask you something?"

He turned to me and said, "Yeah sure."

"Okay, well this may seem a little strange to ask, but what exactly are we? I mean we did have that kiss on Saturday and those words that I've never said to another guy besides my dad. I mean you acted like it didn't happen, but it did. I mean that was probably one of the best nights of my life. So what are we?"

He looked speechless like he had no words for it, but he finally said, "Look, it's not that I forgot it happened because trust me it was the best night of my life and I meant everything I said, I promise you that. I just didn't know exactly how you wanted me to act. Well I guess right now is the best time to tell you the real reason that I brought you to this picnic." I didn't know what he was taking about, but he pulled me up to my feet and we were face to face now as he talked, "Well the reason I brought you here is because I wanted to ask you to be my official girlfriend?"

"Are you serious?" He nodded. I smiled, "Yes, I will." I took my hands from his hands and put them around his neck and gave him the biggest hug and then kissed him. " You've just made me the happiest girl ever."
