Anddddd here it is, the last chapter of Ride or Die! Thank Wattpad glitching all day for the late upload but it's here and I hope you all enjoy! Thank you all for reading and loving reading my books just as much as I love writing them. I'm still undecided if this will truly be the last book in the series, but as of now I have nothing written and plan on taking a bit of a longer breaking from writing than usual. BUT, never say never! I do have plenty of ideas for future books for the Hell's Tribe series and some completely new ones as well. Feel free to leave in the comments what you would like to read next from me and I just might make a book out of it.
Until then, here is chapter 40.
ENJOY!!!
~Bucky~
I could feel Carter's heartbeat subtly vibrating against my chest as she slept and I could see from the way her eyes were beginning to twitch that she was moments away from waking up. She had been passed out in my arms for hours, but I didn't have the heart to wake her up even though my arm was numb and tingling from the uncomfortable position I was in. This was the first time since we'd skipped town that Carter had looked this peaceful as she slept. The wrinkles that usually formed in the middle of her forehead were gone, her face was relaxed and her body was no longer tense. She was finally getting the rest she needed, and even if I had to spend the next twelve hours in this position just so could sleep in peace, I would do it.
That's how much I loved this woman.
But even despite my best efforts to keep her asleep, her blue eyes fluttered open for just a moment as she lit up with a sleepy smile.
"Hi, baby," I greeted, placing a soft kiss on her temple.
Carter leaned into my lips, wrapping her arm further around my chest as she cuddled closer. She closed her eyes again as she repositioned herself, but she was awake and smiling against my chest.
I wasn't sure what time it was, but it was definitely late by now. Carter and I had come back from the hospital late this morning and had been sleeping ever since. With only the light from the t.v illuminating my bedroom, I could tell that it was no longer daytime. We had spent the whole first day we were back in Tooele sleeping in my bed—in our bed. Although I was sure there was a lot of shit we should have probably been doing, there was no other way I'd rather spend it.
After all the shit we had been through in the last couple of weeks, a quiet and normal day in bed with my wife felt like everything I needed.
Shit, I had a wife.
That still sounded so fucking crazy to me because I never imagined I'd get married this young. It was pretty common here in Utah I guess, but in the club culture, it was more likely that a guy didn't get married at all, or he did it later in life. It was no surprise that Mick and the rest of the guys freaked out when they heard because this was a big fucking deal.
No matter what happened, I was gonna be tied to Carter for the rest of my life, and while that should have scared the shit out of me, it only excited me. I got to live knowing that I had her to come home to every night and that she was gonna take my last name, and that one day when we were both ready, she was gonna have my kids. I got Carter McPherson forever, and nothing and nobody would ever be able to change that.
"Stop staring at me," Carter mumbled sleepily.
I chuckled, unaware of the fact that I had been staring at her even now that she was awake. Despite my best efforts, I just couldn't help it. My wife was just so damn beautiful and I was basking in the fact that I was the one and only lucky son of a bitch to have landed her.
