PART ONE ~ MON AMOUR

You were walking Janelle back to her apartment after your date. You got to the door of he apartment and you opened it for her.

"Mademoiselle Janelle," You said, motioning for her to enter.

"Pourquoi, merci, mademoiselle," (why, thank you, Miss) Janelle replied, walking into the apartment. You didn't know what that meant, but you didn't bother asking.

She motioned for you to come in, so you did, closing the door. You both sat on her couch. Her parents were on a business trip, so they wouldn't be joining you. Her apartment was small. They didn't have much money, but this business trip was hopefully going to help them get promoted.

Janelle scooted over to you, and you picked her up, setting her in your lap. You gave her a short kiss on the cheek, smiling.

"Je t'aime," Janelle said.

"All right. I ain't gonna pretend like I know what you sayin' anymore. What's that mean?" You asked. She laughed, showing off that lovely smile of hers.

"It means 'I love you'," she said, still laughing.

"Oh, well then je t'aime too," you said, pronouncing it wrong making her laugh even more.

"You need a French class like me, mon amour," Janelle said adorably.

"What's that mean?" You asked.

"It means 'my love', sweat heart," she replied with a chuckle.

"Well, all right then, mon amour," you replied, pronouncing it wrong.

You two sat, Janelle saying French things and you not understanding what the hell she was saying. You loved her more than anything, and she felt the same about you. You wished you could be more open about your relationship.

As if she read your mind, Janelle asked;
"Are you ever gonna tell anybody about me? Your friends? Your parents?"

"I-... I don't know..." You replied. "My parents ain't exactly supportive of this kind of thing..."
"What 'kind of thing'?" Janelle asked.

"They're homophobic, all right? They hate gay people. I don't think I can ever tell them," you reply.

"Oh, (Y/n), I'm sorry. I didn't know..." Janelle said.

"It's cool. I wish they would stop tellin' me about how one day I'll 'find a great man', but I can't tell them. I don't even know what they'd do to me."

"That really sucks, baby. I'm sorry. My parents were always so supportive of me and never cared about me being gay. I never really thought about the fact that you might not be so lucky," Janelle said.

"It's all right, Jane. You didn't know," you replied.

"What about your friends? The Pogues. Can't you tell them?"

"What if they hate me? What if they ditch me? What if they tell my parents? What then? I can't tell them," you answered.

"They wouldn't hate you. They love you, baby. They aren't gonna tell anybody either. Especially your parents," Janelle said. She had a point. But you couldn't take any chances.

"But it could happen. I just don't wanna risk my friendship with them or my parents knowing. They don't gotta know everything about me, right?" You said.

"They're supposed to know the important stuff about you, right?" She asked.

"Well, yeah, but-" you started, but she cut you off.

"I'm important to you, right? I just... I don't wanna be some secret lover you hide in your closet and tell nobody about."

"Jane... I just... I don't wanna lose them... Please. I love you and it ain't nobody's business anyway. I wish I could show you off to people too, but I can't. It just can't happen," You responded.

"Okay. I respect your decision. I do recommend you tell them also because it can make a barrier between you. The truth is important. I understand though," Janelle responded, giving you a peck on the cheek.

"I love you, my lovely Jane," you said, pulling her closer until her face was an inch or less away from yours.

"I love you too, my beautiful baby," Janelle responded before you started a long make out session.
