You were laying on the fold-out couch at John B's with JJ. You were laying in your back, starting at the ceiling, trying to make an important decision. JJ deserved to know. You wanted him to know. But what if he wouldn't accept you? What if he would hate you? Was it worth the risk?

Fuck it.

"J..." You said, your insides shaking a little. 

"Yeah?" JJ questioned. 

"Uhm... There's something I want to tell you..."

"Okay. Go ahead," JJ replied. 

"I- uhm..."

"I won't judge you," JJ said, acknowledging your anxiety. Did he really mean that? Would he really not judge you? You were too far to go back now.

"I'm a dude..." You said nervously. 

"Okay, dude," JJ replied. There was no judgement in his voice. He didn't seem too surprised. He didn't seem angry. He seemed like he was... Okay with it...

"D-do you hate me?" You asked. 

"(D/n), of course not... I could never hate you... That was so brave of you to tell me. Thank you for trusting me." You looked into his eyes. No anger. No judgement. No hatred. 

"Do you want me to call you a different name? And what about pronouns?"

"Oh... uhm... I'm (Y/n)..." You said. It felt so good to say that. "He/him pronouns please."

"Okay. It may take me awhile to get it right, but I'll do my best," JJ said. He was so sweet.

"Who can I use your name and pronouns around?" 

"I-uhm... I wanna tell the other Pogues..."

"Okay. I'll help you if you need help," JJ offered. 

"Thank you..."

"Of course."

After a few minutes of silence, you spoke;

"Uhm... There's something else..." You said nervously. You might as well tell him the other thing. 

"Okay," JJ said. 

"I-uhm..." You took a deep breath. You could do it. "I love you."

"I love you too, (Y/n)," JJ said. This took you by surprise.

"I thought you only liked girls..." You said. 

"Usually, yes, but you're different..." JJ replied. "There are some times that I see a dude and I'm like, damn, but usually not."

"Guess I'm just that good," you said, winking. Both of you chuckle. 

"Guess so."

You looked at each other's lips. 

"Can I kiss you?" JJ asked you. You nodded. And so he did. It was gentle at first, but it progressively got more passionate. You had wanted this for a while. You were so glad that both of your big secrets from him were out and you could be closer with him now. You didn't have a wall of secrets between you anymore.

Your lips separated and you pressed your forehead against JJ's. 

"So..." You said. 

"Wanna be my boyfriend?" JJ asked. 

"Yes," you said immediately. Huh both smiled, looking into each other's eyes. JJ really did appreciate how much you had trusted him.

"So, there's this guy," JJ started. Shit. What was he talking about? Was there someone else? "He's got the loveliest eyes. His smile is the cutest thing ever. He's the handsomest dude ever. He's like the best kisser. And best of all, he's my boyfriend." You smiled and blushed hard. You loves him so much.
