PART TWO:

You adjusted your clothing in the mirror. You sighed to calm yourself. You were going on a date with Sarah Cameron. You wiped your sweaty palms on your legs and then headed out. You took deep breaths. You walked towards the spot you had agreed to meet with Sarah. Once you were there, you noticed she wasn't. You got nervous. What if she wasn't coming?

"Hey, stranger!" Sarah said, walking towards you. Whew.

"Hey," you replied, relieved she didn't stand you up.

"You look quite nice this evening, (sir/ma'am/mx.)," Sarah said in an English accent.

"Why, thank you, miss," you replied in an English accent, bowing slightly and kissing her hand. (if you have an English accent, you speak regularly) "How are you this fine evening?"

"I'm good, thank you. And you?" She asked.

"Perfectly splendid," you replied. (if you get that reference i love you)

"Well, that's lovely."

"Indeed, miss," you replied.

"So, what do you wanna do?" Sarah asked, returning to her regular, American accent.

"Anything you want," you replied.

"Well then, how 'bout we go eat somewhere?" Sarah asked.

"Sure," you replied.

Sarah drove the both of you to a restaurant. You two talked for hours and had a great time. You learned lots about her and she learned a lot about you. She seemed to be getting cuter and cuter. You loved making her laugh so you could see her beautiful smile.

"This was really nice," Sarah said as you walked out of the restaurant.

"Yeah, it was," you replied.

"We should do that again," Sarah suggested.

"That'd be great," you replied.

"Next Friday work for you?"

"Yep. Sounds good," you replied. She smiled with that adorable smile. "Same spot, 6:00?"

"Sounds great," you replied.

"Wanna hang at the beach now?" Sarah asked.

"Absolutely," you replied. She smiled. She drove you both to the beach. You and Sarah talked for hours. You learned plenty about each other. Finally, it was time for you both to go home, so you did.

~<• time skip to a few months later •>~

"(Y/n), I think it's time you meet my family," Sarah said. You and her were hanging out on the beach.

"Oh..." Was all you could say. "I-... I just don't think they'll like me...."

"I don't think that's possible," Sarah said.

"Well... Look, they'll probably just see me as a dirty Pogue who's family can hardly afford running water..." You explained.

"No, they won't," Sarah assured you.

"Are you sure it's a good idea?" You asked.

"Yeah, I think it is," she responded.

"Fine," you replied.

~<• time skip to when you're going to dinner at Sarah's house•>~

You exhaled to call yourself. Your palms were sweaty. You could do this. They were just people. Besides, Sarah said they wouldn't hate you. It would be fine... right?

You knocked on the door to be greeted with Sarah.

"(Y/n)! You look amazing," Sarah said.

"Right back at ya," you replied nervously.

"Come in," Sarah said with a smile. You stepped in. And holy shit this place was HUGE.

Sarah guided you to the dining room, where her family sat. There was food neatly placed on the large table. You saw her dad, sister, and stepmother. You smiled nervously and sat down by Sarah.

"H-hello," you said awkwardly. Sarah grabbed and squeezed your hand lightly for reassurance.

"(Y/n), right?" Ward asked.

"Yes, sir," you replied. "It's good to meet you."

"Mhmm," Sarah's father replied. Her sister stared at you, as did her stepmother.

"Well, (Y/n), this is Wheezie, my sister, and Rose, my stepmom," Sarah said. You smiled awkwardly.

"Nice to meet you," you said. You rubbed your sweaty palms on your legs.

"Let's eat," Sarah's father said.

Everyone put food on their plate and began to eat.

"So, (Y/n), where are you from? You from here?" Sarah's father asked.

"Yes, sir," you replied. He seemed not to know that you were from the Cut.

"Where do you go to school? You go to Kook Academy?" He asked.

"Uh-m- no, sir. I go to Kildare County..." You replied, growing more and more nervous. Now he knew you were dirt poor.

"Oh? So you're from the cut, huh?" Sarah's father asked.

"Dad..." Sarah mumbled.

"This isn't your place, kid-"

"Dad!" Sarah raised her voice slightly.

"What, sweetheart? I just want you to date someone who's good for you!"

"(Y/n) is better than any Kook. (P)'s/re amazing. (P) care about people. (P) have a soul! (P) isn't/aren't just a spoiled dumbass like most of the Kooks!" Sarah said.

"Look, he's right, okay? I don't belong here. I'm a Pogue and I always fucking will be (yes, reference to IT; "i'm a loser and i always fucking will be" -Stan). I'm not like any of you. I don't have money. I wasn't born with an advantage. I'm just a piece of shit from the shit showpart of town," you said.

"No, you're not, (Y/n)! You're not a piece of shit! Don't let anybody tell you otherwise!" Sarah responded.

"I think it's time you go home, (Y/n)," Sarah's father said. You stood up.

"Fine," you said. You started to walk away quickly.

"(Y/n)! Stop!" Sarah said, rushing to you.

"What, Sarah? Your family hates me and I don't belong here. I'm out of place. It's fine. Bye," you said, opening the door to leave.

"Please, (Y/n)..."

"What?"

Sarah sighed.

"Look, I'll talk to them, okay? You can belong anywhere if you make room for yourself. I'll call you tomorrow, okay?" Sarah said.

"Yeah, okay. Bye," you replied.

"Bye."

Well that went terribly.
