When teenager Y/N L/N returns to California from the East Coast, he rekindles his connection with the LaRusso family, particularly with Daniel and his childhood friend Samantha. Y/N quickly rises through the ranks at Miyagi-Do Karate, becoming one o...
At the Miyagi-Do dojo, you stand near Robby while he is going hard on the punching bag, as usual.
Samantha LaRusso sighs after a session of kata and sits on the ground, clearly still upset about the Valley Fest's lousy outcome for Miyagi-Do.
Robby Keene: "Maybe we should take a video of us sparring and post it on Instagram." He suggests.
Samantha LaRusso: "Everybody already saw us at Valley Fest." Sam tells him.
Y/N: "And surprisingly, no one cared." You add. "No sarcasm by the way."
Robby Keene: "You know what the problem is?"
Y/N: "Hm? What?" You ask.
Robby Keene: "Miyagi-Do's all about defense."
Samantha LaRusso: "Defense wins championships." She shrugs.
Robby Keene: "Yeah, but people show up for the offense." He retorts.
Y/N: "Hence why Cobra Kai is more popular." You say with a nod. 'At least I'm using more advancedlanguage. And I don't mean the cursing kind.' You thought with a smirk. "Anyways, we need to show them we can fight too."
Samantha LaRusso: "So what exactly are we supposed to do?" Sam asked. "Go to the mall and pick a fight? Record us defending ourselves?"
Y/N: "You were always the brilliant one of the bunch." You say to Sam with a grin. She rolls her eyes playfully and stretches.
Robby Keene: "It's not the worst idea." He defends before punching and kicking the bag.
Sam finds her dad working underneath his yellow antique 1948 Ford Super De Luxe.

It was the first car he had ever gotten and Mr. Miyagi had given it to him as a gift. It meant a lot to him and now, he was determined to get it working again.
Samantha LaRusso: "Hey, Dad. Getting the banana boat up and running?"
Daniel LaRusso: "I'm trying."
He gets out from underneath the car and cleans his hands on a rag.
Samantha LaRusso: "Do you maybe wanna come around back? You could teach us some karate."
Daniel LaRusso: "I ever tell you about my first job selling cars?" He asks. Sam doesn't answer, so he continues. "It was at this used car lot in Tarzana. The owner there thought he was God's gift to sales. Truth is, the customers could smell his BS a mile away. My first month there, I outsold him."
Samantha LaRusso: "How'd you do that?"
Daniel LaRusso: "I did what Mr. Miyagi taught me to do. I treated people honestly. Looked them in the eye, asked for their trust, and I earned it. All the fanfare and all the gimmicks, that stuff, I mean, it gets them in the door but it doesn't sell cars. It's the same thing with karate. We gotta use a more personal touch. We gotta look people in the eye and connect with them. That's the only way we're gonna be successful." He gets in the car and puts his hands on the wheel. "All right. You ready?"
