Chapter 9: Chopsticks, Cars, And Coastline Walks

Thursday morning...

Before training, you and Sam were kissing behind a doorway in Miyagi's house. You hear some of the students doing kata with Robby leading them, but neither of you stops.

Daniel LaRusso: "Y/N? Where are you?" He calls out.

Y/N: "Um, coming, Sensei!" You turn back to Sam and grin "See you later... babe." 

Samantha LaRusso: "See ya later, Nonny."

 You kiss her on the cheek and head toward where your sensei was waiting for you.

You and Daniel were now sitting at a low table in Mr. Miyagi's old house. Chopsticks lay in front of you and Daniel sits across the table from you.

Daniel LaRusso: "Okay Y/N, remember when Mr. Miyagi used to try to challenge you and Sam to catch a fly with chopsticks, but you two never could?"

Y/N: "Of course, it annoyed me to no end."

Daniel LaRusso: "Well, have you ever wondered if you could do it now?" He asks.

Y/N: "Huh. I guess I can do it now. But it's still going to be hard." You grab the chopsticks and do a breathing exercise to calm yourself.

Daniel LaRusso: "You know, I actually caught a fly with chopsticks one time. Mr. Miyagi always said, 'Man who catch fly with chopstick, accomplish anything'." Daniel says, giving you a look of determination. "You can do it."

Y/N: "I'll definitely going to catch it now, Sensei." You declare as you lunge for the fly and miss. You wait for another opportunity, but you miss the fly and try again. "C'mon little fly, I shall have... you!" You chop in the air but come up short of the fly.

Daniel LaRusso: "Alright, whenever you're ready to join the rest of the class today, just come on out. Catch the fly,

Y/N: "Sure." You say while staring at the fly in the air. You try again but fail.

Three hours later...

Daniel sends everybody home and after putting his things in his car, he walks into the house to find you with the fly caught in between your chopsticks.

Y/N: "Mr. LaRusso, I did it! I did it! I DID IT! After three hours, I emerge victorious! Now I can accomplish anything! Woohoo!" You exclaim in joy.

Daniel chuckles and looks up to the sky.

Daniel LaRusso: "Looks like I'm not the only one with 'beginner luck', Mr. Miyagi." Daniel says with a satisfied smile on his face. "And now Y/N, for your reward. Follow me."

Sometime later...

Daniel stops in front of one of the LaRusso Auto Group dealership locations while you were wearing a blindfold.

Y/N: "Where are we? Can I take my blindfold off now?"

Daniel LaRusso: "No, not yet."

He leads you inside of the building and brings you to a desk area.

Daniel LaRusso: "Wait right here." He leaves you for a moment and comes back to hand you a card.

Y/N: "Huh? What's this about?"

Daniel pulls off your blindfold and you immediately look down at the card.

Y/N: "Congratulations on getting your first car. And remember, every customer gets a bonsai tree?"

You look up to see Daniel holding up some car keys in front of you.

Daniel LaRusso: "Your new car awaits. You deserve it."
