Have been really obsessed with Olivia Rodrigo's song, 'Drivers license' and I really wanted to make a fanfic about it with our one and only Semi Semi~. It is my first time doing this kind of fanfic so I hope you guys like it! Also I didn't do the entire song, only the parts I thought I could use to make mini flashbacks!

What's you favourite part of the song? For me it's 'I guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me. 'Cause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street'. That part just got me hooked!

2nd person POV

He was here. With her. She latched on to him like he would run away at any second. You let out a breath, hesitating on whether to sing this here and now. You weren't expecting to see him here, on the day of your performance.

The club was packed with people, this could be such a big opportunity for you. Is it worth getting that sponsorship or telling him how you feel. You bit your lip in frustration, but we're drawn out of your thoughts when hearing your name get announced.

You could see he was shocked hearing you were the one performing. With a surge of confidence you walked on the stage, looking straight at him. You grab the mic and took a deep breath in.

"I know I was supposed to sing a different song, but I wanted to sing this important song about someone really special to me. I hope you like it." You could hear a bit of chatter going on at your sudden announcement.

You walked to the piano, and let your fingers move freely, no sheet music, no timing, just your body and heart leading them.

"I got my driver's license last week, just like we always talked about. 'Cause you were so excited for me to finally drive up to your house. But today I drove through the suburbs, crying 'cause you weren't around."

"Y/N, you should really get your license soon, you're already 20." He nagged you, which left you confused.

"Huh? Why all of a sudden?" He blushed slightly, and scratched his head. He looked up at you with such a cute expression and little pout.

"Because you can finally drive to my house whenever you and I want. And... we can see each other more." You giggle at his shyness and hugged him tightly. He hugged you back immediately, wrapping his arms tightly against your body.

"Haha, if you want that, than I'll get my license." He looked up at you in excitement, picking you up like a princess and spinning you around. You both laughed so happily, over a small thing like a license.

That was the thing with Eita, it could be the smallest thing, but he would make it the most exciting thing in the world. He had such a weird talent in doing that.

"And you're probably with that blonde girl, who always made me doubt. She's so much older than me, she's everything I'm insecure about. Yeah, today I drove through the suburbs, 'cause how could I ever love someone else?"

You walked to the studio where his band was practicing, seeing a beautiful blonde hair girl laughing with him. She was the lead singer, who was not only a person with an angelic voice, but with an angelic personality.

Her body was perfect, the right curves, the right sizing, the right height, the right everything. And with a perfect face. You felt your heart tighten seeing how he looked at her.

You hid from their sights and tried not to let those doubts come in to your head. He only ever looked at you liked that, were you not the only one? You cried softly to yourself from how hurt you felt.

"And I know we weren't perfect but I've never felt this way for no one. And I just can't imagine, how you could be so okay now that I'm gone. Guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me.
'Cause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street."

Eita was never a singer, but for you, he would write so many songs about how he loved you and would sing them to you. He would always make you feel so loved when he sung them to you. Always ending them with the same exact phrase every time.

"I'll love you forever and ever." He says while smiling at you. And you would say it back to him, every time with so much love in your voice. Yet how could all that be gone with her being around him?

You would see them together, so happy together. How could he move on so fast? Those three years gone in just a matter of months of being around her. How was he so happy, when you were so broken?

"Today I drove through the suburbs, and pictured I was driving home to you."

When you drove to go to your friends house, you blanked out and automatically ended up in front of his house. You hated yourself for how hung up you were about him.

Yet, those tears didn't come down, till you saw her and him get out of the car, walking inside his house. You let out of so many tears in your car, because you imagined you were going home to him.

"And I know we weren't perfect but I've never felt this way for no one, oh. And I just can't imagine, how you could be so okay now that I'm gone. I guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me. 'Cause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street."

You at this point didn't realise tears were starting to come out. Or how his face looked at you with such sadness and guilt. His girlfriend was looking at him with the same kind of expression.

When you finished, you heard the sound of clapping in your ears. You looked up at saw everyone cheering for you. You dry your tears and bow to your audience. Walking off the stage as quickly as you could, not wanting him to see you like this.

"Y/N, can I please talk to you." You see him standing there right in front of you, after months of not seeing him. He gave you such a pleading look that you couldn't say no to him. He drove the both of you to the same studio he always goes to.

He rushes to pick up his guitar and started to playing the same tune of your song. You were hesitant on what he was planning on doing.

Lyrics by @marlowj15 on TikTok.

"I know you heard I found someone, is this what this is about? I knew I had to leave, I really never wanted to tear you down." He sang with such a soft voice it amazed you at how much he improved. It must've been because of her.

"But I saw you driving through the suburbs... Heartbroken cause I love someone else." You flinch when you realised he noticed you on that day.

"And I know she's not perfect but I've never felt this way for someone." Your heart broke into pieces when he sang those words. He never felt the same way you did.

"And I know you thought I found it when I found you so I'm sorry that we're done." You couldn't help but let some tears fall down your cheeks, seeing him give you such a sympathetic look made you feel so hurt and pitiful.

"I'm hurt 'cause I hurt you but it just wasn't meant to be. So maybe we're better as strangers that pass on that street." At this point you were ready to leave at any moment, but he stops you.

"We are better off like that Semi, so why don't we start it now." But he still kept his tight grip on you, pulling you in to a tight hug.

"I really did mean what I wrote in those songs about you. You did nothing wrong." You push yourself off him, looking so broken that it hurt him that he caused you to be pushed that way.

"I don't believe you when you say I did nothing wrong."

My heart... is now broken. Also if you guys didn't know, the last line is originally from her original version of the song.
