Waiting-Suna Rinatrō

Part 2/4 of the requests by Newtthygingercat . Felt like writing fluff. Anyways Haikyuu ended, but I hope all my readers continue to be fans of Haikyuu and still be active in the fandom. This anime was my favourite of all the shows I've watched and it has taught me so much. Thank you Haikyuu for helping me through my darkest times.

2nd person POV

You silently sat there waiting for him to come home. It was currently around 10pm and Suna had practice till late. Which, you understood since he was now a player for EJP Raijin. Just you wished his practices didn't run for so long.

You sat on the couch in your pyjamas, huddled up in a warm blanket, right in front of the TV. It was winter and you were worried about how cold he must've felt, currently walking home. It made you feel a bit sad since you know he gets cold easily.

Some more minutes went past, and you slowly started to drift off to sleep, when you heard some keys shuffling and the door being unlocked. You quickly jumped to your feet and before he could even take off his shoes, you were already hugging. Legs wrapped around his waist and you arms around his neck.

His body was cold but you didn't mind. He was a bit startled at first but chuckled as he placed an arm around your waist to keep you secured as he took off his shoes and dropped his bag. He locked the entrance door and carried you on to the couch.

You still holding on to him as he silently smiled at your cuteness. "Is there a reason why you are clinging to me like a child?" He says while smirking at you. You hide your face in to his chest, feeling a bit embarrassed by his sudden question.

"I just missed you since your practice went on for quite a while today. Sorry for startling you." You say quietly. Suna felt a bit guilty for being sarcastic towards you. He just pecked you're forehead and rubbed his hands up and down your back.

"It's okay. I missed you too. Training was really rough today." You pull away to smile at him and brought your hands up to his cheeks to give him a kiss on the lips.

"You must be really tired. Hopefully you and Komori aren't working yourselves too hard." Suna melted at your touch and words. It always helped him after a tough day from training or school. Even back in high school. Though you guys only got together after your third year.

"You must be hungry. I'll go make you something." You were about to get up but Suna kept a tight grip on you. Giving you a slight pout.

"No stay here. I can just wait till breakfast." You just frowned at his words and looked at him seriously.

"You are an athlete! You can't be skipping out on meals. I don't want you to faint from fatigue or get hungry. I'm here to help you, just as you help me through my stress and school work. Now let me go and make you some food." You went up and started making your way to the kitchen.

Suna looked at you with pure adoration. He was lucky to have you. Someone who not only understood his busy schedule but had the same love and passion for volleyball as he did. To have someone who was willing to look after him when he was tired, or hungry, or stressed.

He's never felt happier in his entire life. He stood up to follow you, and hugged your waist for behind, putting his head on you shoulder to watch you cut vegetables. You laugh and turn your head around to look at him.

"What are you doing?" He just digs his head in to the crook of your neck. Hugging you tighter to his body.

"I just thought about how much I am lucky to have you in my life." You smiled and continued to keep making his food, while humming a small tune. Suna just stood there listening you and would time to time kiss your neck, ears or cheeks.

When you finally finished and set the food on the table, Suna pulled you in to his lap, keeping you in your place. You looked at hime confused and he just gave you a small sheepish smile. "What is this for?" Giving him a raised eyebrow while giggling.

"I want you to feed me." He says with no kind of embarrassment.

"Why?" He fake pouted at you.

"Because I'm tired." You sighed and decided to follow his request, while he sat there with a cat like smile. Which made you giggle from time to time.

When you both finished you both sat there is comfortable silence. And before you knew it, you fell asleep on his chest and when Suna noticed he couldn't help but blush at your cute self.

You were there with your face on his chest, face peaceful, in your cute pyjamas. He carried you upstairs to your shared bedroom, and gently placed you on the bed, pulling any strands of your hair back. Then went to take a shower.

When he came out, he saw you looking at him with a tired smile. That smile could make his heart do leaps and jumps. He hurriedly puts on his clothes to join you on the bed.

When he pulls the covers up, he sees your arms stretched out to him. Warmth spread towards his cheeks as he lets himself rest in your arms. He originally flinches from the coldness of the bed, but relaxes when your warm body touches his.

No words said, just you two holding each other till you fell asleep together.

Bonus extra:

Morning came like no tomorrow. You woke up to find Suna gone, which was strange since you always were the on to wake up the earliest out of you two. Hesitantly, you hoisted yourself up to go and start making breakfast for both of you.

However, when you made it down you were in for the shock of your life. There was Suna, a 185cm boy, wearing a tiny cute apron with a fox on it. You couldn't but burst out laughing, while Suna stays there blushing from ear to ear.

"Shut up."
