Long Distance-Iwaizumi Hajime

2nd person pov

Long distance relationships are something not a lot of people get through. With conflicting time schedules and just the long distance away from each other in general, it is difficult.

You were finally going to Hajime for the first time in a year and a half. You guys had been together since the start of your third year of high school. You guys were inseparable, until graduation. Iwaizumi got accepted in to a university 5 hours away from you.

It was easy at first, since you both tried to contact each other as much as possible, but as the months went on, it got harder and harder to say in contact. Iwaizumi was either busy with volleyball or assignments, and you were a medical student, so you barely had time either during your semester.

"I miss you~~!" Iwaizumi chuckles at you pouty face. You both finally had some time to call each other, and it was pure bliss.

"I know. I miss you too." He says while giving you a smile that he would only reserve for you. Seeing after so long makes you fall in love with him all over again. You were about to ask him about volleyball when you got a message from a classmate.

"Ehhh?!!!" You couldn't believe what you just read.

"Y/N, what's wrong?" He was concerned at your sudden outburst.

"My professor just assigned us another assignment and it's due in 5 days..." You both knew that you would have to hang up to start your project and you couldn't help but feel guilty.

"I'm sorry Hajime... I always end up being the first one to end our calls." He sighed but gave you a reassuring smile.

"It's okay. Good luck on your assignment okay? I know you can ace it!" You nod enthusiastically at his words of encouragement.

"I will! I love you~~!"

"I love you too." And the call ended. You didn't even realise the tears dripping down your face. You missed him so much, and just when you thought you both had enough time, you had to mess it up.

This went on for a couple more months, and it was hard at first, but eventually you both just ended up getting used to not talking to each other often. But your relationship took a big test when it your birthday came around.

"I'll be able to visit you for your birthday." You couldn't believe what you were hearing.

"Really?! Are you being serious?!" He chuckled at your excitement.

"Yes, why wouldn't I be serious about this?" You smiled so brightly. After eight months, you would be able to hold him, hug him, be with him. What more could you wish for your birthday?

"I just can't believe I'll get to see you again." You could feel him smile from the other line.

"Well, you better believe it is going to happen." He was such a dork sometimes, but you loved it.

"You bet I will!" It was only a week till your birthday and you basically stated to prepare everything. Snacks, movies and basically everything you wanted to do with him. You even declined and rescheduled plans with your friends, since you wanted to spend the whole day with Hajime.

He told you beforehand that he would have a practice match with another university, so he would come around mid-day. You waited at the train station for hours till you got a text that the team was going to have a couple more sets and that he would meet you at your apartment later.
