This book is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places and incidents are either a product of the author's imagination or a used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual people living or dead, events or locales is entirely coincidental.
Now I know there are some grammar and punctuation mistakes throughout the story, but I'll come back and edit them once I've finished, please bare with for now!💜
Journal entry - June 20th
Ever since I was 16 and had my first heart break, I was hooked on love. Well, I thought I was.
Going from book to book, reading every romance, tear jerking story I was in love with love, I wanted my ending - not a happy one like the chick flicks, an ending where I am where I want to be. But it's not as easy as the books say, I'll tell you that. I learned that as I turned 20 years old.
I can hear my phone ringing somewhere, I should wake up and get it but I'm enjoying my sleep. The next thing I hear is my sister shouting at me. "Ava, answer the damn phone! This is the fourth time it's gone off, I want to sleep!" Ugh, the disadvantage of sharing a room with your 16 year old sister because our other sister, Lucy moved back home, so she occupied my to-be room, which leaves me stuck with beau.
We get on pretty well, sometimes. We have a lot in common, so sharing a room with her isn't so bad.
"Ava! Can you hear me?!" Irritated.
I sigh, "yeah, yeah, I don't even know where my phone is!" I sit up, moving the duvet about until I hear a loud bang on the wooden floorboards.
I wince at the sound knowing its my phone that's just made that heartbreaking thud.
Old school rock 'n' roll starts to play again and I now who is it that is in need of my attention, Nick, my best friend. I set that specific song to him because it's been our favourite song ever since high school, so it fits him perfectly well.
I answer the phone before the lyrics kick in, or I'll end up dancing to it.
"Yes Nick? Why are you calling me so many times at 10:30am in the morning?" I say playfully.
I hear his cute, infectious giggle down the phone before he replies, "you forgot didn't you?" Panic fills my mind and I start to quickly think of what he's referring too.
He sighs "you said you would go shopping with me, remember?"
Crap! I did say I'd go! Nobody knows the struggle I have to endure having to go through hours of watching nick shop for clothes to just come out with one pair of jeans, I swear he's secretly a woman!
I answer confidently "yeah, I remember" trying to sound excited but I can never fool Nick - he's my best friend after all.
"Well get ready, I'm already outside, see you in 5!" He quickly hangs up and I hear a car door shut. He's so impatient.
I quickly get ready as fast as I can, throwing on any sort of presentable attire. When I'm with Nick I don't need to make an effort so I'm not bothered about making myself look pretty.
I've just about got my skinny jeans on when I hear the front door open and Nick shouting the house down like its a cathedral. "Honey, I'm home!" He sounds so playful, it makes me giggle like a child. "Be just a minute 'dear'!" I reply in the same playful tone. I hear him speaking to my dad about his recent top score on COD, they get along so well, I like it.
I've just finished brushing my teeth and I'm pretty much ready for the next few hours of hell.
