We turn up at the club 'venue' around 8:15PM and it's already busy, typical for a Saturday night.
As always, we get stopped by the bouncers so they can see our I'D's. I can't wait for the day I don't actually get stopped.
I'm feeling pretty good tonight, I'm wearing a white lace crop top and my black high waisted skinny jeans with my black wedges to finish my outfit. My make-up is casual. a little foundation, black eyeliner across my eyelids and black mascara. I made more of an effort with my hair than usual and curled it with my straighteners. Well Beau did. I like the outcome of tonight already.
We head straight for the bar, I always need at least one or two drinks down me before even thinking of ascending to the dance floor. We find a dim seating area to sit, we set our bags and drinks down and just as we parked our arse's there's a guy already approaching us with two drinks in his hands.
I roll my eyes. Cassie noticed and shook her head.
"Behave Ava! It's free drinks!" Cassie lives for free drinks, only she could go out to town with £10 and come back with more money and also completely drunk, how she does it, I don't know. It's probably her long, wild, ginger hair. It's so vibrant, it's suits Cassie so well as she has a fierce personality, and the good looks to add to the mix.
We've been quite good friends for a few years, I never got on with girls in high school so I hung around with the lads after school, and one night there was a girl that tagged along. Never did I think we'd have so much in common and I'd actually become best friends with her 3 years on.
She's the only girl friend I have that I can tolerate. The brave guy has reached our table and looks at Cassie.
"Evening ladies. you're both looking great, mind if me and my friend join you for the evening?" He shows up what seems to be his best smile, it's not for me. Cassie scoots her chair over and signals for him to take a seat. Great.
"These drinks are from me and my friend" Placing them in the middle of the table.
"You've not spiked them have you?" I say sarcastically with my head leaning on my propped up arm.
He blushes. "No? I would never do that!" Clearly offended. Shesh, another douche who can't take a joke, how boring.
I take the complimentary drink and sniff it. Yuck! Vodka lemonade, a double as well. I'm not a fan of vodka, it makes my belly burn. i'll drink it anyway so I don't offend douche bag over there.
As I take a sip, the guy who has taken his place next to Cassie, raises his hand to someone behind me hmm.. must be my company for the evening.
I take another sip as the other guy appears next to me shouting at his friend."Thanks for leaving me with those hyenas, Kyle! It took me ages to fend them off you dick" Wait, I recognize that voice! As I look up and stare at his face, it is the person I'm thinking off. Holy shit! It's the guy from the shopping centre!
I inhaled too much of my drink and spat it out and started to choke.
"Are you alright Ava?" Cassie stands up and pats my back."Ava?" Kyle's friend bends down to see my face. Please don't recognize me! "Well, when I said 'see you around' I didn't think I'd be seeing you so soon! Ha!" I want to ground to swallow me up. I'm so glad I made an effort tonight.
"You know him Ava?" All 3 of them are looking at me. What a pain.
"Not exactly, I accidentally bumped into him when I was shopping with Nick today." I stand to wipe the rest of my drink off my pants.
"Move like wanna-be-boyfriend" he's leaning to the side staring at me. What an arsehole!
"Enough of that now you dick! Tha'ts my friend you're making fun of, I don't appreciate people saying such things about him." I take a deep breath and collect my thoughts.
He held his arms up and apologizes.
"My bad, I won't say anything again" He pretends to zip his mouth, lock it and hands me the key. He seems funny. He takes a seat next to me.
"Okay, good boy" I pat his head and we all sit back down.
