My alarm is about to go off, I know this because I've been staring at it since 4AM. After that phone call last night I couldn't sleep, my mind kept playing the same sentence in my head 'I'm really glad your friend gave me your number' does he actually like me? I don't know what to think. My alarm finally beeps, I try to forget about it and take a shower.
I welcome the hot water and let it explore my body, I like to be fresh, especially after that phone call, my body heated up within seconds of hearing his voice, I'll blame my body heat on the lack of sleep I've had. There's a knock at the door.

"Yeah?" I poo my head out of the shower.
Are you done? It's nearly quarter two eight! You're normally done by now" Beau always gets in after me. Shit, what have I been doing? I haven't even washed my hair yet!
"I'll be out in a second!" I quickly grab the shampoo bottle and get to work.

I managed to get ready by half past and hop into Lucy's car before she can leave me behind, I didn't managed to straighten my hair though so it's a little on the wild side today, I check my bag again to confirm that I have everything, I do. I grab my phone and see I have a text message.

"Good morning, you know I've never had to try my luck with flirting more than once, until now.
P.s. I definitely think it's a sign we saw each other on the same day. How about a dinner date? Jason"
So it wasn't a dream, he actually listened and text me today, I shouldn't be this happy. I go to reply as Lucy already got in the car and is staring at me.

"He's text you, hasn't he?
"Yeah, he rung me late last night to apologise and I told him to text me today and he has" 'what should I write back?'
"I could tell the second I walked out of the door, saw your face and it had the biggest grin ever on it" Am I that obvious? I must have looked like a weirdo.
"Really? Sorry" I put my seatbelt on, I want to quickly get to work and forgot about this moment.
"Why are you apologising? It's great to know you're happy, even if it is over a text, what did he say?"
"umm, he put 'how about a dinner date?' Does he mean a romantic date or take me lunch like Nick would? She puts her face into her hands and shakes her head.
"Really? Why don't you ask him? I'd say it's a proper date, I don't even receive texts this early" I hit reply as we drive to work.

"Good morning to you too, who says your flirting has worked at all? Regarding this dinner date, is it a casual dinner or a proper date? Id rather not turn up in a horrible outfit to a nice restaurant.
P.s. I find it weird, not a sign ha. A x"
I hit send and put my phone into my bag. That was an appropriate response right? I hope he doesn't get offended by my sarcasm.

It doesn't take long till we arrive at work, we live 30 minutes away if you walk and 10 minutes if you drive. After we sign in and say our hellos I quickly check my phone, I have a message, I go to read it but I hear my name being called, by the head teacher too.
"Ava, good morning. You're a little later than usual today, did you over sleep? He smiles at me, he's a nice guy and I'm pretty sure he has the hots for Lucy.
"Yeah, I did actually. stupid alarm clock" I shake my head at my phone, blaming it.
"We'll be carful next time, you don't want to be giving your sister a hard time now, do you?" Ugh, not this again, little does he know, Lucy didn't even rise from her room until 8:20 so it's me she gives a hard time, idiot.
"I will, speak later Mr Wilcock" I run away while I can before he lectures me anymore, Jesus it's only 9AM for Christ sake! As I turn the corner Lucy is stood waiting 'here we go' I roll my eyes.
"He told me to not give you a hard time, don't worry" I see her body relax, I carry on walking.
"Okay, good. As long as it's just that" what does she mean?
"Yeah, it is. Why don't you two hook up already?" She doesn't reply, I stare blankly at her, my mouth drops open.
"You- you already have?! When? How?" Alarm crosses her face and she immediately covers my mouth with her hand.
"Shhh! Not now, okay?" She waits for a reply.
"Mmfmmf" she realises she still has my mouth covered.
"Oh, sorry" she lets go.
"I said okay, but the car ride home, then you'll tell me" I cross my arms and stand my ground or she'll try and get out of it. She fidgets and her body finally slumps admitting defeat.
"Fine, you tell 'anyone' anything I will make it the last thing you do"
I laugh and hold my hands up.
"It's not like I have anyone to tell as it is, so it'll stay with me till I die"
Regret hits her face like a ton of bricks as she realises what she said, it doesn't bother me that I only have two friends, I prefer it that way.
"Ava, I-"
"Lucy, it's fine, I know you didn't mean it. I haven't taken any offence" She gives me a shy smile.
"Okay" I smile back and walk to class.
