A few hours have gone by which consisted on me and Cassie dancing and going back to the guys to talk some more. I found out that they both live pretty close to me and are both 2 years older than us, making them 21. They're not the worst company in the world, Cassie seemed to like Kyle, she was pulling out all of her best dance moves and kept touching his arm whereas I'm sitting here like an awkward tool sipping on my free drink.
I scowl at my awkwardness. Why can't I be like Cassie? This is why I can never hold a boyfriend.
"Do you always scowl?" Kyle's friend places his drink next to mine. I blush and let my hair fall forward to hide my face.
"I must do considering you've mentioned it twice in one day" I murmur. He leans forward and tucks one side of my hair behind my ear.
"It's cute" What? I look up and his eyes are glowing, I don't know if it's the alcohol or the lighting in here but I can't stop looking at them. He has a slight stubble, I can tell he lets it grow from the way he's unconsciously playing with his no-existing beard. He has brown hair which falls to the side, he's a hairy guy. I tear my eyes away and catch a glance of the few strands of chest hair that's escaping his collar.
The grey shit he's wearing suits him, it shows off his broad shoulders and muscular arms I wonder what they feel like.. Stop it Ava!
It looks like he works out, I like a guy who takes care of himself. I normally feel uncomfortable around guys, but I strangely feel calm. I hear him mumble something under his breath, I lean forward.
"What?" I say into his ear, he jolts back.
"I said I;m really sorry for both things I said today." He looks so sincere. So he can be nice.
"It's okay, I'm used to it. we get it a lot" I shrug my shoulders and take a big swig of my drink.
"So, are you single?" I almost choke on my drink again, he's so forward. Pull yourself together Ava!
"Yeah" I smile at him.
"Okay, good" he smiles back showing his teeth. They are amazingly white and straight. I inhale as I take in such a bright sight, I grab my phone from my bag and check the time, it's 1AM. That's pretty late! I need to go, I'm so tired from today's shopping trip and all of the dancing. I shout Cassie to tell her I want to go, she agrees. That was easy? Maybe Kyle isn't her type after all.
We tell the guys we're going home, thank them for the drinks and their company. I enjoyed myself for once, he isn't as bad as i Thought either, he's quite handsome.
They walk outside with us while we wait for our taxi, it's pretty cold. None of us say anything for a couple of minutes until a loud fart escapes from someone, Kyle shot a lookat his friend.
"What?" he grinned and shrugged. I couldn't hold it anymore, I burst out laughing. I laughed until my belly hurt. It seems I'm the only one who finds his flatulence so funny.
Our taxi has arrived. I don't really want to leave anymore
Cassie gives Kyle a hug and he gives her his number. I stare at my hands and I go to say be to- wait! I don't even know his name! How embarrassing!
"What's your name?!" He can see the embarrassment on my face.
"You're only asking now? It's Jason." Laughing at my outburst.
"Okay Jason, thank you again and good night." I climb into the taxi and wait for Cassie. He leans into the taxi.
"Can I have your number?" Holding his phone up pointing at it. I sit thinking whether it's a good idea to give a randomer my personal number, well he isn't exactly a stranger and I don't know his intentions.
"No, sorry, I'm not comfortable giving my number out so easily" I give him an apolegetic smile.
"Too bad" he shoves his phone into his pocket with his hands. Cassie shakes her head and walks towards the taxi. She holds her hand out for Jasons phone and types something into it then runs into our taxi.
As we drive away Cassie is giggling to herself. What has she done? I don't trust her once she's had a drink. I turn to look at her and fold my arms across my chest.
"Okay, okay. Don't be mad okay?" Holding her hands up.
"What have you done?" I can feel my heart pounding against my chest.
"I gave Jason your number" she quickly curled up into a ball to protect herself. She WHAT? I said no, what if he's a stalker or a murderer? Calm down, it can't be that bad, can it?
"Why? When you heard me say no!" I put my face into my hands as it's late to make him delete it. God damn you Cassie Marcs!
"Why not? I could see you two got on well, you never give anything a chance! Especially after Adam. Don't you find it weird how you both accidentally met twice on the same day?" She has a point, I suppose it can't be a bad thing, I sigh.
"Okay, you're forgiven for now, it's a good job I love you." I put my arm around her shoulders and give her a hug.
"This will be the last time, I promise!" She hugs me back.
"Okay"
