Alex was pacing back and forth in her room. Her hair was in curls since Roman didn't want to use a curling iron saying "It will look more natural and it won't burn your delicate hair". Which she didn't really understand since her hair has been through hell, reminding her of that time she burned her hair with a candle. Not her proudest moment, but a good story to tell. As she paced back and forth, she didn't want to look at herself. She looked laughable. She was in a silk robe, with curlers in her hair and a full face of makeup.

Today was one of the most important days of her life, next to getting adopted by Thomsd. But being adopted by him wasn't this stressful. I mean they said not to get stressed, she was supposed to be relaxing at the moment, but how could she not be stressed. For all she knew ten bad things could've happened while she was supposed to be relaxing. For the last ten months she had been preparing up to this day, making sure and praying nothing bad would happen tonight. But any could go wrong. Carter could've not made their favorite dish. Or the DJ getting stuck in traffic. Or worst of all, Travis backing out at the last second. She was inches away from having a mental breakdown, but she held it together knowing Talyn would lecture her for ruining the make up she spent a great deal of time on.

Hearing the door open, she spun around to see who it was. To her relief it was her dad, Gerald. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that Thomas got married ten years ago to a dude named Gerald. She loved Gerald, he was all the things she knew would make Thomas happy. Along with the fact that he treated Alex like his own daughter.

"Gerald, it's so good to see you. Please tell me you have it," she begged.

"I'm offended that you doubt my abilities," he joked.

Pulling out one of those bags that contained clothing from behind his back, he showed it to her. With great delight, she gave him a hug, thanking him for bringing it in safely. Grabbing the bag, she set it softly on the table, not wanting to hurt it, even though you really couldn't hurt clothes. Yet she was too worried to even care about that. Zipping it open, she let out a small gasp. Even though she had seen it before, seeing today felt more real, more emotional.

"Well we have about an hour before the ceremony starts, so I would start getting ready and using the bathroom if I were you," Gerald suggested.

"I will," she told him.

Leaving the room, Gerald closed the door behind him. Once he wasn't in the room, Alex took out the dress completely. Putting it against her body, she stared at herself in the mirror. There weren't many times where she felt confident, especially in tight clothing, but this was one of those times. She hadn't even put it on yet, but she knew she was going to look amazing in that dress. Slipping it on, she looked at herself again. Feeling the lace in between her fingers, she did a small spin. It flowed perfectly at her ankles, almost like a river. As she traced her curves, she looked at herself, it hugged perfectly in all the right places.

Ever since she was small, she had imagined this day a thousand times. A thousand different ways, with a thousand different men and a thousand different dresses. Yet she never imagined that this day would actually come. It was better than any dream she could have mustered.

Looking at the clock, she realized only eleven minutes were left until she would have to leave. Sitting down, she began to let go of her hair delicately taking off her curlers. As she looked at herself in the mirror, she saw as her hair fell into a perfect curl. Roman right, it looked more beautiful than doing it with a curling iron. Putting her hair in a nice half-down half-up style, she stuck bobby pins in her hair to make sure her hair stayed in place. Once she was happy with the style, she added a bit more touches to her makeup.

Without knowing it, 4:00 came. It was time. Getting up, she opened the door and walked downstairs to the limo. Entering the limo, she felt the car start up and leave the building. The whole car ride felt surreal, as if she were floating in air. It almost felt like time didn't exist, only her. And soon time came back, and the car came to a halt. The door opened and a hand was offered to her, which she happily accepted. Walking inside the building, she took in a deep breath. Pushing through another pair of doors, she saw Thomas sitting down, by himself. It was an almost odd sight. For almost the entirety of her life with Thomas she had never seen in him without the Sides.

Walking up to him, he looked up. His breath hitched and he began to tear up. Now that she looked at him, he looked a lot older than she remembered, more wrinkles and gray hairs. Yet he still held this look in his eye, the same twinkle she saw when he adopted her. The same loving stare of a parent.

"Wow, you look beautiful," Thomas breathed.

"Thank you, Dad," she said.

Standing up, he gave her his arm.

"Ready?"

"As I'll ever be."

Pushing through the last pair of doors, she felt a hundred pairs of eyes on her. Yet she kept her head held high. Reaching the end of the aisle, Thomas handed her off to Travis.

"Take care of her for me."

Looking at her, he smiled and answered.

"With my life."

The ceremony started, and the vows began. Everything happened in a blur, almost like a high. And without her knowing, the question was asked.

"Do you Alexandria Sanders take Travis Muller to be your lawfully wedded husband."

She looked at him with the same stare she gave him years ago. The same one Gerald gave Thomas. A loving gaze. She then looked around, finding her close friends and family in the front. There she found Virgil, Patton, Logan and Roman. They all had tears in their eyes, but a smile on their face. So she looked back at Travis with the same smile.

"I do."
