Alex layed on her bed bored, but mostly disappointed. Today was Adopted Day and yet again she wasn't adopted. A tear escaped her eye, but a warm hand brushed it away. She looked up to see her 'mom' side, Penny. "It's going to be okay, I know that you're going to be adopted," Penny stated as if she could tell the future. She then felt a hand stroke her hair. She turned around only to see her passionate side, Riley.
"That is a high probability since about 135,000 children are adopted each year," stated a voice.
Alex stood up from her bed, Riley's hand snapping away. She look to her left, where the voice came from. She then found her logical, brainy side, Laila."Hi Laila," Penny said like she saw her favorite thing in the world.
"Well there is a low probability that we would get adopted," stated another voice.
Everyone's heads zipped to see who said that, but deep down they knew who it was. To their expectations they found Alex's anxiety, Vera."Hello Vera," Riley and Laila said in a monotone voice. Penny soon drew everyone's attention by saying "How about we leave this subject for another time. Maybe we can do something to cheer you up."
As if on cue Alex got out her computer from under her pillow and opened it. She went to YouTube and quickly went to her notifications, she then found her favorite YouTuber uploaded. Thomas Sanders. She looked at the video, and to her luck it was a Sander Sides video, it was called 'Embarrassing Phases'. She immediately clicked on it and it began to load. Whiling it was loading Vera, Riley, Laila, and Penny got in place. Riley behind Alex braiding her hair. Penny in between Alex's legs, back to her chest, the computer on her lap. Vera sat next to Alex and leaned her head on her shoulder. Laila behind her as well, her head on her left shoulder.
Penny was right, the video cheered them up immensely. Alex even saw a slight smile from Vera from the corner of her eye. Then at the end of video something Thomas said caught her attention."As a gift for me and a lucky kid, I have decided to adopt a kid," Thomas stated. A twinge of hope sprouted in her heart. Maybe it could be m-no. No there are hundreds of orphans in Florida, he would definitely rather chose one of them. Never me. She quickly pressed on another video, hoping they wouldn't say anything. She looked from the corner of her eye and saw no one notice, accept Vera. She gave her an acknowledging look, her hand grabbing hers and giving it a light squeeze.
~ time skip a week~
It was Adopted Day and Alex was getting ready. She put on her favorite flannel hoodie, but left it open, showing her gray tank top.

She then put on her ripped jeans and her black converse. Soon after Riley began to braid the left side of her hair three times.
