It's been a few weeks since Travis and Alex broke up. It was hard, but Alex learned to heal. To move on and get better. But she still loved him, she couldn't forget that. And she wasn't trying to, she was trying to get over him. Not his love. But maybe moving on was the way to start. Like a rebound or something she thought.

She closed her locker and began to walk, eyes in the ground. That was until she was forced to look up. She bumped into someone, her papers dropping on the ground. She quickly crouched down and began to say sorry while picking up her papers. She was missing one, and she was frantic looking for the missing paper.

"You looking for this," a hand held her paper. Her face lit up and snatched it from his hand. She began to go on a rant on how grateful she was. "Sorry, I'm going on a rant. Just thanks so much," she told him. It finally came to her he was kinda cute. Brown hair and blue eyes, with a nice physique.

"Well anything for you, princess. I'm Jayden," he flirted with her. Alex lifted a brow at the sudden pet name. "I ain't no princess. I'm a damn queen," she announced jokingly, while raising her arms. Jayden smiled.

"Yeah you sure are. How about, your royal highness, I take you out to the movies," he told her. Alex laughed, until she processed his words. At first she was going to deny, but she remembered her thoughts from before. To get over him, I need to be more open she thought to herself. She smiled.

"I'll see you tonight at 4:00, the West Theater," she told him.

"It's a date then," he responded to her, before leaving. The whole day she couldn't think of anything else, but the date. What was she doing? What was she going to wear? Thoughts like that raced through her mind. And before she knew it, the school day was over.

She stood outside of school, thinking of ways to tell Thomas and the Sides about her date. She saw the familiar car of Thomas pull up. She smiled, and got in. "I got a date," she blurted. Best to get it over with. Thomas eyes went wide, but they soften soon after. But not soon after all the Sides showed up, in the back seat.

"Oh, my little girl is all grown up," shouted Patton, wiping a fake tear.

"Another heart stollen I see, princess," Roman told her.

"Damn. Didn't know you got yourself a man already," Virgil said, while ruffling her hair.

"I see this as another opportunity to study human behavior," mumbled Logan. The whole car ride was filled with fashion ideas from Roman and dad advice from Patton. Alex smiled, happy to have such a supportive family. They finally got home.

Roman immediately ran up to her, ready to give her a complete make over. But Alex told him not to. "This is just one date. I rather dress myself, no biggie," she told him. She could see the disappointment in his eyes. She gave him a small smile.

"But when I get married I promise to let you design everything and dress me up," Roman lit up. And hugged her.

"You will be the best bribe in history. Dressed as a queen," he announced. He gasp. "I have to start planning immediately," he said before popping away. Alex smiled and went out her room.

3:23 came up and Alex thought she would start getting ready. She took a shower and began to look around her closet to find something to wear. She finally found some black overalls, to go with a red crop top. She slipped on her converse, and her leather man jacket. She did her hair in a messy bun, and put on some hoop earrings. She didn't have her contact lenses, so she had to wear her round golden glasses.

She felt really insecure about her glasses, thinking she was ugly when she wore them. She was interrupted from her thoughts, when she felt a hand on her shoulder. "What is wrong, young one," asked Logan.

She didn't freak out that Logan was in her room and didn't knock. That is just how he is. She looked at the glasses in her hands. "Nothing," she lied.

"Well from the look of distress on your face it definitely looks like something," he stated.

"It's just, I don't like the way I look with me glasses. And this is going to be the first date, after the break up. I'm just scared that I'll do something wrong. And I'll lose another chance at a relationship," she explained.

She heard him sigh, and take her glasses. He set them on her face and made her face the mirror. "I may not be good with emotions, but I know facts. And I know for a fact you look like "a queen" as Roman would say," he put air quotes over 'a queen'. She looked at herself. She smiled, she did look nice.

She smiled at Logan. "Thanks Logan for the reassurance," she told him. Logan just patted her head and left. She did a small spin, and fixed her jacket. "I'm a queen," she said to herself.

She left the house and went to the movies. But he never showed up. Alex wasn't mad or disappointed. He seemed like the guy to play with a girl. She just smiled sadly and walked back home. She opened the door and was met by the pitiful gazes of her family. She lifted her hand and smiled at them. "He didn't deserve me, any way," she told them.

That night she spent it watching Disney movies, singing karaoke, and playing around with the sides. She wouldn't want to have spent it any other way.
