Chapter 23

Bahagya akong natigilan sa sinabi niya ngunit agad ring nabalik sa kawastuan nang matanaw ang coordinator- si Viamo.

"Ayos ka lang ba?" Tanong naman nito kaya agad rin akong tumango. Slightly shocked of his sudden change of attitude.

Kahit ganon ay naramdaman ko pa rin ang presensiya ni Kade sa likuran ko kaya tumikhim ako.

"Uhm, I'm sorry for holding you up, uh- Sir Viamo.. let's proceed?" I tried to give him a reassuring smile. Viamo just looked away and led me outside.

"Engineer Madrigal," Napahinto naman kaming dalawa ni Viamo sa paglalakad nang tawagin ni Vellermo Eusebio si Kade.

My heart is racing. Damn it. Why does it have to be like this? Why do I have to feel this nervous for him everytime? That even when all hell breaks loose, even when I'm not supposed to feel this way- why do I still care?

"Miss Andrada." Kinakabahang napatingin naman ako kay Viamo.

Am I spacing out again?

"Hm?" I replied nervously, hoping he didn't catch, yet again another episode of my disorientated thoughts.

I wonder if he's annoyed at that. Para kasing ang uptight niya as a person, I mean even with Louisse Herrera awhile ago- despite knowing each other, I assume from multiple projects, you would think that they'd act like besties around each other by now. But no. The level of professionalism he is showing me now is almost the same to what he showed Louisse.

Viamo eyed my bruise and gave me a bored look.

"It's still a flesh wound. You should get that patched up before returning to set." Sabi niya at nagtulak na pabalik doon. Tiningnan ko naman yung sugat kong hindi pa nalagyan ng band aid.

I sighed and looked behind me where Kade and Vellermo Eusebio just were awhile ago.

I wonder where they went and what they were going to talk about?

"Miss Andrada!" It was Lian. I smiled at her as she slowly approached me.

"Lian! Ba't ka nandito? Assistant ka ni Direk diba?" Umiling siya dahilan kung bakit napakunot naman ang noo ko. She's the Director's assistant, shouldn't she be there since she's needed?

"Naku! Dalawa po kami yung assistant ni Direk." Masigla niyang sabi kaya mas lalong lang akong naguluhan. Though, I just shrugged it off since it might just be how things work around here anyway.

"Nga pala po! Kaya rin ako nandito kasi sabi ni Sir Vellermo kanina dadalhin ko raw kayo sa clinic para matingnan yung sugat niyo. Nadatnan ko pa nga sila Engineer Madrigal na papunta dun sa mahabang dulo ng set na parang may seryosong pinag-uusapan-" Bago pa man siya matapos ay inunahan ko na siya ng tanong.

"Nag-uusap? Narinig mo ba kung anong pinag-uusapan nila? Ngayon mo lang ba sila nadaanan?" Medyo natigilan naman siya at kuryosong napatingin sa'kin.

Tumuwid naman ako ng tayo at tumikhim nang maramdaman ang agaran niyang pagka-ilang sa mga tanong.

"I'm sorry. Uh, please- lead the way." Napakamot naman siya ng ulo at sabay na kaming naglakad doon.

True enough, I got my bruise all patched up at habang tinatapos na nung medic yung paggagamot ay biglang nagsalita si Lian.

"Alam mo ba Miss, parang first time atang gumanon ni Sir Vellermo." Napatingin naman ako sa kaniya. Slightly intrigued by the dismal tone in her voice.

"What do you mean?" I saw her smile while looking at the set from afar. She had this forlorn look on her face that I couldn't understand why.

"Na mag-utos na ihatid ang isang babae sa clinic- o tingnan yung sugat mo." I was in awe.. not because I felt flattered but..
